Hi,
I want to setup a different seller id for consignment sales. I was wondering what all is involved. How does it affect Vendio? Do you need a separate account? Are you able to have sales from both in the same Sales Manager page, or do you need 2 different logins. What about ebay? Do you need separate My Ebay pages? Can a seller with the same address setup another ebay id?

How do you manage your multiple accounts? I will appreciate any help that anyone can provide.
Thanks.

You'll need two Vendio accounts and you'll have two separate sales manager pages with separate logins. Still worth it, though--just a little more to do when you login. Two separate ebay accounts, also, and you can do that with one address. If you take PayPal, both seller accounts are handled in your one PayPal account, once you've notifed PayPal. I had to get a second e-mail address to do most of this.

Once they were set up, I've found that my two Vendio and Ebay accounts are not hard to manage at all. But setting it all up can be a little tricky. It's late right now and I may not be remembering everything from a year ago.

Any questions you might have can be answered if you address a thread to the moderator in the Vendio Services community area. Good luck.

Hi Local,
I have two accounts, one for my main and one for consignments. Basically, it's the same as you and your wife setting up seperate accounts. You can share the same credit card, and address as well as the same name, and that's about it. You need two seperate Ebay accounts, two seperate Vendio accounts and two seperate email accounts. Yes, it requires different logins for each account. No, you cannot bookmark different My Ebay pages and bypass the login. If you set up an account for Local and another for Distant and the cookie in the cache shows you are signed in as Local and you try to click on the bookmarked page for Distant, it will bring up the page for Local. You will receive two seperate statements from Ebay as well as from Vendio. You will want to time your creation of the Vendio account to get the billing cycle most convenient for you. Otherwise, you will conceivably receive 2 statements from Ebay and two from Vendio on the same day. Try to guess your image hosting needs as closely as you can and pay close attention to which plan you sign up with on Vendio.

And I just gotta throw this in: Don't ever sell anything on consignment for anyone unless you have the item in your hot little hands and you control payment andshipping 100%. There's a lot of sellers here who do consignments who can offer valuable advice. Don't hesitate to ask for help, preferably BEFORE you step in it.

Um - this will raise the ire of those that think I am evil but MarketWorks is another Vendio type program which, unlike Vendio, allows you manage multiple auction accounts from the same managing account. Also includes detailed reports to make accounting a great deal easier.

Thanks to all of you for your great advice. I will also check out Marketworks. I've already started doing a few consignments per week & I think I will want separate accounts to manage the bookkeeping aspects.

If I remember correctly we will be able to use one Vendio account for multiple eBay accounts soon. I don't know when though. There was an announcement or survey about this not long ago.

I doubt it. Why would Vendio change this if people are currently paying for more than one account?

Why would the other site do it? Because their customers want it.

I just remember I read it somewhere from Vendio. I think it was a survey or announcement. Anyway, I thought at the time how good it would be.
