First, for those in the know, does Bidpay and/or Western Union accept money from international bidders? In other words, if someone bids on my auction and is located in the UK or Australia, can they pay through Bidpay or Western Union if they don't wish to use Paypal? If so, how do I insert a link into my auctions so that they have this option of paying? Thanks!
Go to www.BidPay.com and register there. You can have the logos auto-inserted if you want.
Also, that's the only way we accept payment from outside the USA. We've reveived payments from UK, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, Canada (although some in Canada can't understand that they are "international" for us...), etc.
You owe it to yourself to check them out.

one CAVEAT, though:
If you are a member of PayPal Preferred (getting that sweet 1.5% cash back rebate), you will lose that benefit if PayPal catches you with a BidPay logo on yer auctions
I stick it on my "ME" page

To become PayPal Preferred and get 1.0% cashback (RALPHIE notes: older members keep the 1.5%) on all of your debit card purchases:
Sell on eBay
Enroll in the PayPal Preferred program by clicking the PayPal Preferred link in the Enhance Account box on your Account Overview page. Enrollment will include registering your eBay User ID and Password.
Advertise PayPal as the only online payment service on your eBay listings. You can still accept checks and money orders, and you can even mention other online payment services in your end-of-listing email to buyers, but to be eligible for PayPal Preferred, you need to advertise PayPal exclusively on your actual listing.
After you have enrolled, you will receive 1.0% cashback on all purchases where you do not use a PIN (restaurants, department stores, online, etc). Most merchants will let you use your ATM/Debit Card without entering your PIN - just choose Credit instead of Debit when given the choice."

Combined with a MERCHANT RATE, this really helps to reduce PP's fees to sumptin acceptable...

Good point, Tom. I don't advertise it with a logo myself. I do indicate in each listing that "international bidders (from outside the USA) must use www.BidPay.com..."
I actually inserted "from outside the USA" - just for the 3 Canadian bidders who recently challenged me that they were "international" and that other sellers don't consider them international... (sigh)

Here's another option for CASH from your PayPal Preferred ATM Card: Go to your bank, tell the teller that you want to do a "cash advance". You'll have to sign a slip (similar to a charge slip). This way it counts as a charge, not an ATM withdrawal. You can do up to $400 per day generally and you will get your cash-back (1% or 1.5%) posted to your PayPal account later that day or the next.

In order to get the rebate from P/P, you must use the card as a credit card, not a debit card. I use mine to buy gas, stamps etc. I bought a roll of stamps yesterday for $37.00 & got 56 cents back from P/P. Thats like geting a stamp free.

This belongs in the big, who cares? department.
You already get this from Discover Card plus it is 1000 times safer and no stupid double charges to maybe credited back later crap.
Put the logo in your listing, but make sure it is within ebay's size policy. In other words, small.
