Does vendio have a tool that allows one to research "hot" items within a specific category?
I know Andale offers one that will provide items with the most bids for $3.95 a month.
Anyone have any thoughts on this topic?

Spahn, its called the "eBay Pulse"
http://pulse.ebay.com/?ssPageName=MOPS5:eBayPulse
You can search by category, good luck filtering out all the bogus mystery auctions...

Ray,
Thanks..I'm familiar with the Pulse area, but I still don't see anything that generates a listing of which items have garnered the most # of bids in the various categories.
Where is it?

Its a closely guarded secret super computer in the controle room buried 150 ft below eBay central.
Only Mega Powersellers like Jay and Marie have access and they could care less because they are busy running auctions...

Hmm...thought I could get a simple answer here but the intellect is obviously far too superior for me.

If it's new stuff you're selling, by the time you find out what the "hot" sellers are, there will be about 100,000 sellers that will have discovered it also and they will have the category flooded. You won't make enough to cover the shipping charges from China. You need to be on the ground floor and the first in line to make a score. A crystal ball would be nice to have also in your search.

I dont think Vendio has anything like what you are thinking that Andale offers with that search chart. But you can always check ebay's hot seller list which is under the community boards tab then under seller central, hot items/merchandising calender. It doesnt show bids, but I think it's pretty much pulled from the same data Andale uses. I wish Vendio would run a feature like that myself.

A "Sort by bids" feature would be nice.

Back in the old days you use to be able to change the address line to sort=7 or some such number. That would sort listings by number of bids.
The pulse page seems to just give general search words.
POPULAR SEARCHES by number of searches
1. cds
2. cd
3. shirt
4. shirts
5. dvd
6. dvds
7. blue
8. silver
9. white
10. men

In advanced search, you can specify a range for of # of bids, although you can't do an exact sorting of the value.
Here's an example for postcards of 10 bids or more: (then sort by price or time left)
