I have a ceramic mug that has a sticker on the bottom that says: Quality Imports - EFCCO - San Francisco California - Made in Japan. Anyone recognize the EFCCO?

I've seen it but am drawing a blank. Try searching for that mark in Pottery.

I wonder if its some variation of Enesco? I am still trying to figure out who Ely is. None of the friggn books mention that one!

..and you be quiet classic. nothing about Ely's coming. It's a real company - I've seen it marked on a few things. I.G. Ely Co. 1957.

oh well thats another one of my great collectables that will get shelved and sold at my dead estate sale.

DBL: Did you try googling I. G. Ely Co.? I googled "I. G. Ely" and 3 pages came up, including the pasted info below. Most of the entries were for a scientific group, but there were about 4 that referred to this I. G. Ely linked to Ebay or such.

Ratchet Tie Downs by Keeper, $9.99. New 4pk Keeper Heavy Duty 14ft Ratchet ...

Yes, Roadsmith, I did, thanks. But nothing came up with pottery or ceramics. What I have is this little ashtray shaped like a golf club and I think it has something to do with golf? that was about as far as I could connect with it. Maybe it was a promo or something?

But thanks, I'll revisit the links you posted.

EFCCO = East Frisco Cheap Crap Outlet. An orgaization based in San Francisco whose avowed purpose is to flood the shelves of Wal Mart and Ebay with cheap junk imported from the orient and drive down profits for the sellers of quality merchandise. Legend has it that it was started by an Oriental warlord who was overcharged .25 cents on shipping by an Ebay powerseller. The mugs are commonly used to smuggle opium into the country. Check and make sure yours is empty before you list it.
