A close friend of mine was killed yesterday at 32yrs old. He and 3 others died as the rusult of an accident at a construction site when a tour bus veered into a closed, coned off lane. Speed and carelesness has been determined to be the cause of this accident. He leaves behind a wife and 2 year old daughter and many devestated friends.
This relates to ebay how?? There is times I drive like a nut just to reach the next garage sale before the crowds do. Race down the highway to be there when the doors of the Salvation Army open in the morning. From this day forward I will be reminded of my own mortality and slow the hell down and maybe prevent someone from feeling the way I do today.

micmic66-I'm very sorry to hear about your friend.Being where I used work,I have heard this story many times...too many times. But you know how humans think-it will never happen to me.People smoke, but they think they will never get cancer-that happens to someone else.People drink while driving, speed while driving because everyone thinks they are a good driver. Most people think they are indestructible and unfortunately none of us are.Again Im very sorry for your friend-being at that young age has to be devasting

Micmic66...I also am very sorry to hear about your friend. I was in the trucking business for 40 years and I predicted such events when the I.C.C. was sunseted in the mid 90's. These small charter bus lines have virtually no Federal oversight anymore. D.O.T. can set up inspections, investigate accidents, etc., but the company can declare bankruptcy and set up again the next day under a new name and continue operating. Under the old rules, they had to apply for and receive a certificate of public convenience and necessity before they could begin operating. The I.C.C. had the authority to suspend or revoke their operating authority if they broke any consumer protection or safety rules. Not so anymore. You bus driver can be a homicidal maniac, have vehicular manslaughter convictions, or be an alcoholic and still pilot that piece of machinery until a disaster happens. The major companies, such as Greyhound, etc. have high qualification standards, but the smaller charter services that operate out of a hole in the wall are to be approached with caution until such time as the Federal Government sees fit to put customer service, consumer protection and safety ahead of the theoretical lower prices that resulted from deregulation.
