Mine are doing okay. Nothing spectacular, though. However, I've had box after box after box of Popular Science, Popular Mechanics and Mechanix Illustrated magazines (full years 1930's - 1980's) dumped on me and I'll have my hands full for quite a while. I can use the slow down right now. And, I just cleaned my dining room! Sigh.

It IS a holiday. And don't forget that outdoor flea markets and shows and auctions are now starting up -- for those who sell vintage and antiques, that's always a consideration.

I had to laugh about the dining room comment. Do you ever watch Mission Organization on HGTV? I would just love to see someone organize an eBayer's room (rooms?) -- I certainly can't -- and it's bad when it spills into the kitchen, dining room, and guest room, each of which seem to have different "holding" zones. That doesn't include the porch of course, or what's in the van.

Where do you keep all your stuff -- and most importantly, what do you do with what doesn't sell??

Cheers.

My dining room has become "shipping central" and the location of my 5000 item ebay store. Two of the leaves are in and table should seat 12. Still, I have two boxes of postcards on a chair too! We haven't had a meal there since Thanksgiving.

It's ironic that I finally acquired enough place settings of my Wedgwood china pattern (on ebay of course) to entertain a crowd and now I don't DARE ask anyone over!! You'd think by selling postcards I wouldn't have typical ebay sprawl but au contraire!! I have boxes of inventory tucked away here there and everywhere.

I keep saying I am going to stop listing to get organized and then ebay offers a 10 cent listing day and all well-meant plans are set aside! I sold 162 items yesterday..maybe I'll tackle organization around the 4th of July

My dining room is my staging area! I have a room upstairs where I can store things and ship them and that's a disaster area right now! And, I just got a call from Ken. He's bringing home more boxes of the magazines. I did find a couple of neat things in the boxes, though. One is a small book on poster design from the 1930's. A great art deco design reference! But, talk about dirty!

Sorry, Cheryl. You CAN'T sell dirty books, LOL.

A couple of years ago someone started a thread about how we use our various rooms for our Ebay work. It was hilarious. Some sellers had leaked it into their garages, others had built a Tuff-Shed, others had rented MORE THEN ONE storage unit!!!, and the best, to me, was someone who'd bought the house next door for Ebay stuff. It was unbelievable.

I LOVE working on our dining room table because it's near the TV, near the kitchen, good view, great light for photos, etc. I've been trying to do better, but one end of the table has the "queue" for photos, and in my real Ebay office I have shelves and shelves. I've tried to meet a goal of selling more than I bring into the house every week, but no go. It's downright scary!

I think the better question is what rooms DON'T have e-bay stuff in them.

So far I've managed to keep the kitchen, bedroom and downstairs bathroom e-bay free out of respect for my sweetie. Also his office is e-bay free. I do have ebay things in my office, the upstairs alcove, the livingroom, the diningroom, the upstairs bathroom, the basement, the mudroom, and outdoor shed...also my car. Most of the items are consignment items. I will never catch up....ugh!

Kins, if you (and other ebay sellers) are lucky it will rain in the northeast on the holiday, and you might catch some bored computer surfers. It most always rains memorial day weekend, but this year I have a feeling it won't (and I dont know what they are predicting so far) but in any case, dont freak too much! Summer always has to be predictably slower than the rest of the year. Unless of course, you've got some hot specialized summer merchandise.

How true about the Memorial Day rains!! It's supposed to rain Saturday and Sunday here, but not Monday. Ya, right. We'll just see about that.

I just wish we could get out of the 50's and 60's and get into some real spring weather. Weatherman is predicting this to last through June!!

Sales are real slow but I have had a few items sell really well.

As for the organization of ebay stuff - forget it!!! I don't know why my husband doesn't divorce me. There is not a room in my house that is ebay free except maybe the bathroom???

Ladyjewels, I am some what sick of "junk" everywhere though its controled, I just moved things around from here to there...and then I cant find it when I want to list it...lol!! I never was much of a clutter person until I got into this ebay thing. My husband really puts up with a lot with it too, since he is so not into it at all.

Cheryl, they are saying its going to be a nice weekend and the cold is going to drift away. I hope so. Ready for spring/summer now

It's going to get close to triple digits here in Calif today and tomorrow, but it's supposed to drop to the mid 80's for the weekend.

Cheryl...Here's what you're looking at this weekend:

I have to tell you a story about one of my first jewelry experiences. I met a women who was a jewelry seller. So I started a conversation and asked her some questions about what she had and such well she said why not stop by my house and take a look. Well my friend and I went as my friend sold bakelite and she said she had a lot of it. We sat in this beautiful all white kitchen and proceeded to talk. She showed us around her home. 3 bedrooms. 1 was full of jewelry, one other had nothing but jewelry findings and rhinestones. So we proceeded to the kitchen and Janie asked about bakelite. Well she opened a kitchen drawer, full of jewelry, opened another, full of jewelry. Her cupboards, full of jewelry. She had nothing in her kitchen that resembeled a kitchen except a sink, stove and refrigerator. No dishes, pots or pans. Then the basement well display cases full, She had more jewelry than all the department stores in the world. It was quite a site. To this day I still see her but I don't buy anymore, but I bet her house still looks like that. Now it wasn't a mess. She knew where everything was and it was in place.. I wish my house looked like hers.
