I"m wondering if anyone knows about the built-in feature on XP which basically acts as a start-up menu manager.
The reason I ask is my computer is somewhat slow during Turbo LIster and the other program i use to post ebay auctions. My PC is a pentium IV, with 500 Mb Ram. But, there are a lot of things in my start-up tray, and I'm sure I don't need half of them running simultaneously.
I was going to get a start-up manager but a friend told me that there is a startup manager built into XP.... but of course, he couldn't remember the utility's name. Anyone here know what he was talking about?

if you type in "msconfig" under "run" you can select which programs run when starting pc.

estates LOL
they're all the same. My link(s) just tells you about the msconfig and what it looks like - tom's isn't bad - it's just not complete.
if you'll use my first link you can go to the page and use the search function (which is this page BTW) http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php and it will tell you what is in your startup list and what it does and what it's used for.
