My ebay sales are suffering terribly; sounds like most others are not doing well either. We could really use an FLD or a 10 cent fixed price..... i'm ready to go with 3000 items!
meanwhile, i'm gonna try yahoo.... all is free.... price is right.
Who here votes for a FLD or 10cent fixed day on ebay?

eBay is always slow this time of year. People are outside, they're on vacation or saving for vacation. Property taxes are due as well. It's not unexpected. I don't see Yahoo fairing any better.

I don't plan to list much on eBay. Even items that should have a high demand, get very little bids until near auction end, because every put the items on their watch list instead of bidding.
I miss the good old days before the watchlisting when you could list items and expect bids soon if there is a demand for a given item.
Now you just hope that at least one of the watchers of an item will remember to make a bid.
I'm tired of high eBay fees for items that sell at supressed prices or don't sell at all.
I'll be listing at Yahoo too, but it will take time for bidders to come back there.

Look for a listing sale any day now. Listing counts are at the same level as last year at this time.

I am finding that this is a good time of year to go over old files, edit pictures and do a general clean-up of my files. Last week I edited the almost 300 items in my store because I have changed my TOS, it took me 4 days.
I am looking forward to the next "blue light special", I hope it will be a FLD!

jake: If Ebay was going to offer a real listing sale, wouldn't they have offered it by now since a 3 day July 4 holiday weekend is coming up?

Sure would be nice if they did a 10 cent or even better a fld this week. I am on vacation from my regular job and I could load it up. Guess that is just wishful thinking!!

parkman I am afraid so. Might offer a promotion like 50% off on a useless upgrade though.

jake: While listing counts may be the same as last year, did you check revenue since listings counts are only part of the picture? Now and ever increasingly there are mutiple ads on each page - even the ones using title search where there are no listings. Then there is the revenue from Paypal - a cash cow that 90% of sellers seem to use. I suspect that Ebay is doing just fine this year.

I've noticed in the past that anytime the counts are slipping they run a promo. Last June there was a sale day, but it was earlier in the month on the 10th.
They're tough to predict any more. This year they ran 2 sales in both Feb and March. It would make more sense to run them in the dead periods like summer.

Well, I signed up on Yahoo, got approved etc., and was told I could start selling and bidding. Well, I listed about 6 items and then couldn't find them. I wrote to Yahoo and was told that Canadians cannot sell or buy on the Yahoo site. I wrote back and asked "then why when the application form came up, it said US or Canada, and asked for a zip or postal code". What a waste of time! At least you would think they would let you know up front.

Nah...that picture thing doesn't count!!!!
There's still hope. Last July there was a 10 cent sale on the 8th.
Ebay store consistent???? I see sales come in clumps...10 one day...nothing for 2 days...etc.

hey Gina - call the number I gave you for Yahoo and she will walk you thru it. I think I am finally signed on and have an auction on too.
They hae to have your user id, passwords, etc to give you a security key and then you have to change that to a security key of your choice
good luck
