Hi everybody,

I'm trying to overcome my fear and loathing of paypal. I've got a couple of questions.

I know (from reading this board) that I should only accept payments from confirmed addresses and not to accept paypal from non U.S. bidders. Any other basic safety data I should know?

Also, (I've never done any sort of online banking) if I become verified by giving them bank account information, is there just somewhere within the paypal site that I can go to to move money from the paypal account into my bank account? Or do I need to set something else up?

You can trandsfer directly from the account or once you have the account for 60 days, you can request a debit card and withdraw from your friendly neighborhood ATM machine.

No, I'm saying -- I'm merely -- I'm saying what I'm saying. I don't know why I'm always having people say, are you trying to say -- you know what you can do if you want to know what I'm saying is listen to what I'm saying. What I'm saying is what I said ...

PayPal causes me less hassle than my merchant account with novus.

I ship to both confirmed and unconfirmed addresses as well as foriegn orders.

I have had no problems whatsoever.

hi cherish,

i ship to both confirmed and unconfirmed addresses as well. to anyone, anywhere in the world who wants to pay via PayPal. same results as dave - zero problems with it, ever. been using PP since it started. accounts for probably 80% of my payments. not quite sure i'd do that if i was selling really high-end items but it works for me.

ditto - I ship to confirmed and unconfirmed also foreign countries. No problems so far.
don't be afraid of PayPal, about 90% of my payments go through it.

Same here - I ship confirmed, unconfirmed, don't use DC and ship anywhere in the world. I did have one chargeback because of "fraudulent card use" but I think the address was confirmed on that one - buyer left FB but because I didn't use DC I was SOL - it was a $7 item so no big deal but puzzling.

PayPal is nothing to be afraid of and, if truth be told, much easier for me - mailed in payments take at least twice as much time to process and when you are handling 800 payments/month TIME IS VALUABLE!!

Hi Cherished .... I ship to both unconfirmed and confirmed with no problems. I also ship internationally. But let me give you a little bit of advice ...

Make sure you use delivery confirmation or have an online way of tracking the package. Also, if you are doing international sales and wish to insure an item without paying an arm and a leg, then look into U-Pic. I always pay for the insurance myself on international sales that run higher than I would like to lose. It is a nice little safety net.
