I found these today at a rare Tuesday garage sale for a buck each. I know nothing about old lamps but had to buy them. Is the steel one a Bridge lamp?? Any help would be appreciated...

HI The 2 glass lamps are Depression era bedroom lamps, fairly common sold in pairs the metal one is NOT a bridge lamp it is a table lamp same era. The one with the blue glass is in my opinion your best $ maker.

Actually, I like the iron (spelter?) one the best, but I can't see enough detail to make out just what it might be. Looks deco, which is always good.

The blue -- is it true blue blown/molded glass or painted/tinted blue? That will make a difference. I've never had much success with single glass ones, and think I usually end up dumping them for a couple of bucks at a flea market clean up run.

I'd think your deco one would do the best -- $10-20 or so. Any markings?

JMHO.

birgittaw, the metal lamp has a number stamped into the bottom of it. If you were to list this lamp how would you word a title and what catagoury would you put it in??
Thanks!!!!

Unusual Vintage Deco Cast Iron (whatever it is? Iron, spelter?) Table Lamp Ornate ... whatever else you can fit in

Collectibles, lighting, electric, table lamps, or possibly
Antiques, Architectural, Chandeliers etc.

Probably from the 1920's, 30's.

Good luck!

brigittaw is correct that they should sell in the $10 to $20 range maybe not on ebay but in a store space. Personally I don't see the metal one as Deco at all.. but thats me. There is a table lamp category in household if I remember correctly. The color blue ALWAYS sells better for me thus my draw to it. Good Luck.

The depression glass ones will do much better if you can identify the maker / pattern.
We need Max again!!!
It may help if you photograph them one at a time. It's pretty hard to see the detail.

Can't see the detail, but I'm wondering if the metal one is a pieced together 'architectural' piece - it almost looks like a shelf bracket or something...

Blue one appears to be an "english hobnail". The middle one was a fairly common pattern.

The metal one is most likely cast iron and has a piece missing. The open piece in the middle either held something like a flower pot or an ashtray shaped to resemble the oil canister of a genie lamp. I like it though. Style is not really deco but it is probably from the 20's or 30's so you can get away with calling it Deco. Too many people don't now the difference any more and think everything made in the '30s was deco.

I would have to keep it if I had found it for $1!
