Has anyone tried the (New?) Paypal Pro option? This allows you to use Paypal to process credit cards through your own website. The customer never sees any reference to Paypal.
They also have an option called Virtual Terminal that will let your type in a customers credit card info and charge them, just like a manual terminal used in a retail store.
The service costs $20 a month, which is a little higher than my current manual teminal, but the per-transaction rates are about the same. I'm thinking about switching just to have everything handled in one place.
Anyone tried this yet? Love it? Hate it? Is there some major detail they're not telling?

I don't have it - but as I was reading your post I kept hearing "Don't put all your eggs in one basket". Just a thought.

That phrase was in my mind as well, especially since we're talking about Paypal. But sometimes consolidation and efficiency count too.
It wouldn't surprise me if Paypal didn't bump their rates up quite a lot eventually, but after reading about this in "Internet Retailer" it looks like they are going after larger businesses and want to stay competitive with the regular credit card companies. I think they are going to have to keep on their toes to stay competitive in the credit card marketplace.
My bank is a little slow depositing my charges and the online reporting is very weak. Say what you want about Paypal, they are very timely with their information.
I'd like this to work, but I'd really like to hear from someone who is actually using it.

I downloaded the PDF info file on it but it was soooooo generic and had absolutely no specifics. It is basically an outline of they they want it to be.
I tried to click around on the paypal site but it didn't have any specifics either.
I'd be interested in it but as a caution you don't want to give paypal all of the control over your income. Too many paypal horror stories, site access issues etc etc for me to give them that much control over my business.
