In the last year I've seen too many changes to the ebay system which has effected my sales. Mostly do to their new search stragities which means less browsing. My items aren't found by most searches, my unique items are only ever bought on impulse.

In the last year and a half I've given eBay over $80,000 in fees to only to gross $200,000 (about a $100,000 net profit). My websites perform much better (and do not cost $80,000 in 18 months to run and advertise!)

As a result I'm probably going to shut down my eBay account unless I can find some use for it.

I don't think it's legal to sell an eBay account but surely an account in excellent standing with over 25,000+ feedback (99% positive) is worth something....Any ideas?

Bill

I think I remember Jay and Marie offering their ebay business - name and inventory - for sale for $5,000,000 or some outrageous sum during a Free Listing Day last year.

... but I thought ebay would not allow the 'selling' of an ebay ID.

You can't sell your eBay ID outright, but if it is part of a business I think the account would be able transfer with the sale of the business. I pretty sure that is what Jay and Marie did (ID jayandmarie).

eBay feedback is considered an asset of the business and can be sold/transferred to a buyer. I suppose it would be possible for Billy8156 to only sell the eBay end of his business, without supplier info or outstanding inventory, but auctioning off just the eBay i.d. on eBay probably will not set well with the PTB.

That doesn't look like he's selling an ID, that's just a listing put up for a specific buyer.

I would be interested in hearing what it would be worth to you and if the price is right, maybe make an offer.
