My daughter asked me about a snipe program. I don't usually recommend sniping, however she is looking for clothing for her two girls for school, and she is going to nursing school, and working also. It gets a little hard to place a bid toward the end of the auction for her. Can anyone recommend a good "Free" snipe program to use with Ebay, and one that is reliable? I know some folks don't like sniping, however this would help her a lot, especially since she is new to ebay, and is not home much to watch the items.
Thanks,
Pattie

Why waste the effort when her bid will probably be the only one anyway?
But try Auctionsniper, you get some free snipes to start.

I have used Vrane for a few years with very few problems. You can do 1 snipe at a time free or pay and have as many as you want going at once.

around the world,
why wouldn't you recommend sniping to her? it's the best way to get what you want at the least cost.

I will second the recommendation for Vrane.
But you sound almost apologetic for sniping. Feel free to snipe my auctions anytime... Those last minute bids don't bother me a bit!

How about Goodwill or Salvation Army? Cheap clothes for the person who is lacking wealth.

“I don't usually recommend sniping, however….”
In other words, “I usually don’t mind overpaying or entering into bidding wars by giving others time to deliberate and overbid me, but since this is for my daughter…”
I have been very happy with esteal at http://www.esteal.com/
It’s free and you can place as many snipes as you’d like. Good luck and feel free to snipe as many of my auctions as you wish.

ditto. i welcome snipers. it's a sale and what the card was "worth" on the market at the time. when buying for my own collection, i ALWAYS snipe and never enter into bidding war$.

I just used esnipe for the first time yesterday and it worked just great. They are offering free sniping for the first two weeks I think.
I don't think sellers mind sniping at all - other bidders may not be too fond of it.

I only bid with eSnipe. The only bid it ever did not place was one on the first day I used it. I expect it was an eBay outage. I almost dropped it but glad I didn't because it has worked every time since. I learned early in my eBay experience that I should not bid early. I discovered that I had a number of stalkers. After I got up at 2:00 am to snipe a UK auction I decided I needed a snipe program and am glad I picked eSnipe.

I still wish y'all would write to the suggestion box at ebay (as I have), that they should 'improve' ebay by setting up an option for the buyers to 'place my bid now', OR, 'place my bid during last minute of auction' ... way too many people put items on their 'watch' list, hoping they will remember to be at their computer when the listings end. ... (and they're just not there.)

I've been using Esnipe for ages too and love it.
I just have to remember to enter my bid. Lately I've fumble by adding the item to my watch list and then forget to set up my snipe
