Can not figure out how. Filed for credit over 8 days ago after waiting 14 days for payment. Buyer has not responded to Dispute Console. Seems to have had no activity since June 30 and won 13 auctions in a 30day period before that.now has 0 feedback. My Ebay shows credit pending. Do I have to file somewhere or is the credit automatic?

OK but that is of no help. What do I do next? Cannot find where to do this because I keep going in circles back to where I started with dispute console. Someone must have have gotten FVF back and must know where to find the link. Assume you have not attempted it.

If I remember, there is an option on the console that says, "I no longer wish to communicate or wait" -- try that one. Make sure you read the options that follow -- you want the strike against bidder, and FVC. They don't make it easy!

buyhigh,

hmmm, i'll give this a try. if you filed over 8 days ago, you should be eligible for the FVF. your buyer has been notified by e'mail of this pending dispute and can't read or doesn't wanna read and respond. so...you're good to go. you should have a choice now in the dispute console - i don't have any outstanding disputes but it runs roughly like this...

your choices are to tick off a box that says a) the sale's been completed and everyone's going to live happily ever after or b) that you no longer wish to communicate with the buyer or c) you two have mutually decided to cancel.

pick b. then i think ebay takes you to a screen where you click yes again and you get the FVF and the "buyer" gets an e'mail saying 3 strikes you're out. you'll know you were successful if you see a green check mark under the header "FVF credit eligibility" at the beginning of the dispute console stuff/circle back to the beginning.

you can see another header at the beginning too, far right, that says dispute status. yours should read "closed: FVF granted."

it's only sorta confusing the first time, is the good news. hope that helps.

If the credit pending is showing and the blue check mark is in the far right column, then click on the "close dispute" button. This will take you to a page where you can choose the reason for closing the dispute. BE CAREFUL HERE! The default reason that is checked is not the one you want. You will want to check the box that says that you no longer wish to wait or communicate with him (or something to that effect) Once that is checked, click the button that ends the dispute. It will give your credit and take you to a page where you have a chance to add him to your blocked bidder list.

yes, buyhigh, don't forget that part about adding them to the BBL. i was trying to explain that picking the exact cause for ending the dispute is TRICKY, but sparkz and the others did a better job of it.

I tried clocking on the little circle that states I no longer wish to communicate and no results. The dot does not move The dot remains on the default circle #1. It does show I opened the dispute on July 5th and I am certain I did that at 4PM so 8 and 5 =13 plus the extra 3 hrs. The check mark is only outlined in blue by the way. It is not filled in.

Yep! I filed at 15:59 on July 5. Doesn't 5+8 =13 and isn't today July13? Guess they have a glitch in filing for FVF or my math is bad.

When they first started with this new scheme, it would take up to nine days to be able to claim a credit. But if that blue check mark is there, it should be elegible and you should be able to select the proper reason for closing the dispute. It could be an Ebay glitch, or you could have a cached page. Try clearing your cache and history, reboot your computer and try again. If you still can't change the check mark, wait and try again tomorrow. DO NOT close the dispute with the default reason that the dispute has been settled any you are both happy

clear mu cache every night as a matter of principle. Don't worry I refuse to accept #1 option. That may be why this bidder is still registered. Bought over 13 items and only the first 2 for under $3.00 final bid ( one was .99) resulted in feedback.

A dispute counsel,,,,, has a prominent button that says, We're ALL Happy now so no harm no foul,,,,click that and e bay pays NOTHING. What a CON.

Guess what? I tried again today and it worked this time. Ebay must set their clocks for this differently than we do Could they be using India time?

you have to factor in that they're on PST. that's what they go by in determining the lengths of time for everything - dispute console, auction beginning and end times, etc.

Buyhigh...Glad to hear it finally worked. Just curious, was your strike the third and is the deadbeat NARU now?

The buyer is still registered but has 3 recent consecutive negs ( including mine) giving a -1 feedback. Registered several years ago but only recently bid on anything. Possibly has mutiple ID's so Naru does not mean much these days.
