A friend bought this item back from India in the 1960's. It's a HUGE (25 inches tall) ornate "pitcher". It stands in a large deep round brass container (22 inches in diameter/8 1/2 inches deep). The bottom of this container has a brass plate with a ceramic knob. It looks like maybe coals were placed in the bottom of the container and the pitcher could then be separated from the coals by the brass plate. I'd be most appreciative if anyone could tell me if this item has a specific name and could enlighten me as to its use. Thanks for any help!
