I was doing some research on Shawnee Pottery and came across an auction where you click on the photo that I thought would enlarge the picture, and it takes you to their Ruby Lane auction (although the Ruby Lane price is higher than eBay starting bid offer). Is that type of linking allowed through eBay? Maybe a round-about marketing idea?

Here's the link if you want to see what I'm talking about:

Puss and Boots Creamer

If my link doesn't work, it was eBay item # 140077472889.

Wow, that really does take you directly to their Ruby Lane store with just one click. I would say its verboten.

I don't think Ruby Lane is the seller. It looks like the seller put that in to show the "real" value???? And..I thnk they used Ruby's picture..I could be wrong.

# What is the Send To Auction feature?
This feature allows Ruby Lane shop owners to seamlessly send items from their Ruby Lane shop directly to any number of online auctions with a few clicks. We format your auction listing, host your picture, and put a link back to your Ruby Lane shop for you automatically. The item stays in your shop and our Search while at auction, with an active link to the auction listing. If the item does not sell at auction, it can be placed back in your shop with a few clicks! back to section top

# Who can use Send To Auction?
You must be an active, open shop at Ruby Lane in good standing. back to section top

# Is there a fee to use this feature?
This is a free service. back to section top

# Is Ruby Lane's auction layout approved by eBay(tm)?
Yes, our standard Send To Auction layout has been approved. Here is eBay's approval email and the auction layout they approved. In the past, eBay has sometimes mistakenly canceled auctions that do conform to their guidelines. If your auction is canceled and you used Ruby Lane's Send To Auction layout without modifications or additional links, you should protest the cancellation and reference the two links mentioned here. eBay will then remove the warning from your records. If you do not protest the cancellation, your eBay seller privileges may be in jeopardy if this occurs repeatedly. Please reference these links in your note to eBay:

Subject: Ruby Lane auction layout

Hi Julia - thanks for your help. Here's a new mock-up:

http://www.rubylane.com/ebayok2.jpg

1. The picture will link back to a page with all of the images,
full-sized, with no auction terms of sale. TOS are on the eBay page.
For example:

http://www.rubylane.com/shop/windowpatti/item/1177

2. The gallery links to a page of only items currently at auction on
eBay, for example:

http://www.rubylane.com/shops/windowpatti/auctionebay/all

3. The Ruby Lane logo is credit for all of the auction services and
links to:

http://www.rubylane.com/en/info/topic/aboutshops

4. The counter is a separate service. If they choose to use that, it
will say Hourly Statistics by Ruby Lane and link to
http://count.rubylane.com. If they choose not to use that, this part
of the ad will be missing.

Let me know if this complies with eBay's policies.

Thanks again for your help,
Jim
