There's no such breed as the "French Bull Terrier". There is a French bulldog, but I don't think this is one: too much leg, not enough bone, and it looks like it has dropped ears. Frenchies have huge "bat ears" that stand up straight.
There's something strange about this dog's head. I can't tell if it's the exposure or angle or what, but what I'm seeing is not distinct enough to tell much of anything--it looks like he's got two noses

Thanks, all. On the origiinal card, the ears do appear to be bat ears. I agree the legs are too long & slim for the modern Frenchie but I found some old photos that suggest the breed has evolved since c 1910 when my photo was taken.
