Gorillapod

I just ordered one at Kodak dot com was same price as site above of original maker but I had done online business with Kodak.

Looks like a nice device for a tripod that can be put almost on anything for stability. It wraps around poles, trees, fences you get the idea, would be good in our ebay shoots for stabilizing the closeup shot and be able to adjust legs a lot more. Can't wait to get mine. They sell also on ebay but prices vary. My total with shipping and tax was $30.84

I saw one on TV recently, in use. Let us know how you like it, please! It looks like a great alternative to the other kind of tripod. Adele

I got the pod today and I like it very much, I already tested it out on 10 locations I could not put a camera before and it was a great thing for doing so. I also tested it for closeup work on a small bottle and was a snap to place camera about 2 inches looking down on the object, the legs were easy to adjust but kept their stiffness and all I can see is that you want to be sure to make sure the camera does not tip over by adjusting legs to counterweight the camera. It is a really nifty idea and has lots of uses that a traditional tripod just can't give you.

Drawback on the gorillapod I got is it I think could be a little longer in the legs to give you a little more wrap room if needed. The legs consist of 10 interlocking balls and it could really use about 3-4 more balls LOL to give you about 1,5-2 more inches of legs. And since they literally will squash down bend out to place camera about 2 inches above a surface that extra balls would not really affect any usage except to give a little more length to use to wrap around larger objects. As it is right now the legs only are about 5 1/8" long up to base, 10 balls.

I know they have different size pods the one I got I will be using with my new canon powershot and it works nicely. They have ones that are for heavier slr cameras and such. But still I am very impressed even though I would like a tinny bit more length for wrap length of legs.

Ok I did my review and am loving it. OH it is supper light weight unlike my other small tripod that has flip out legs from a short tube, it is nice to have too.
