It's snowing today - first winter storm warning of the winter. UGH! Just when I could see the ground under the melt of the snow that hung around for 120 days!
But I have Spring all around me - orchids from Mother's Day last year (white and purple) in bloom again, also violet, red and salmon geraniums we overwintered...here is a pic of my purple orchid

SIGH.......

The question us snow lovers are asking, why couldn't you snow this much in January when we could actually enjoy it?
This one will melt in a matter of a day or two.

I woke up this morning and it is snowing. It's April 5th for Pete's Sake...when will it ever end.
We had just finally got rid of all the ice on the roads so you can finally take a decent walk without taking your life into your hands.
I have a feeling it's going to be another "green winter" here this spring. Shucks.

I know what you mean - I'm thinking of getting some firewood for early next week and I live in Florida (but I love a nice fire in the fireplace)
Still wouldn't want to be in your shoes.

if that storm over the midwest gets much bigger, it will start looking like a scene from DAY AFTER TOMORROW...
definitely not a good time to own land on the lower banks of the Mississippi River

Beautiful flowers neglus. The sun is shining here at the moment in Ontario. A couple of days ago I went and took the fall leaves off my perennial border, and the masses of crocuses that were under them are now in bloom. Not sure how long they will last, we have snow forecast for Sunday.

Ok...I really don't want to brag about our weather here off the west coast of Canada on Vancouver Island BUT our Crocuses are long gone...the Daffodils are finishing, the Tulips are now in bloom and our street has a wonderful canopy of Flowering trees!
I lived in snow Country in Calgary for over 20 years so I really appreciate our weather here. Lots of wind because we are facing the Pacific but I love the wind and raging ocean...so fresh!!
Having said all that the Weather Office has confirmed that we have had the coldest winter here since records first started! We went to about -4 C or about 27F ( I think I have the conversion right).
I am going now before I get attacked by the group from the East!! LOL..

We ended up with about 6 inches of snow on Saturday. Another 4" yesterday. Today is sunny...but the forecast has it snowing again on Monday.
I'm out of here for 3 weeks starting Sunday though....sunny Texas!

It's been unseasonably warm here. We had 77 yesterday, which is quite warm for this date in April for Cleveland. Last year we were buried in snow. Weatherman says were done with it. YEA! I always love the first couple of months of winter. However, I'm always glad when the weather warms!
