1907 is when they changed to divided backs.

neglus, NOS is "new old stock" I have multiples of 10 different ones. They are all Christmas, one is Christmas and New Years and one is just New Years.

Hard to tell from the scan, but the back is similar to reproduction postcards I've seen (and bought- shame on me!)
They used the format until the linens came out, circa 1930. I could date it easier if I saw the front. What's missing is "Printed in Germany" which makes me think that if it's not a repro, it probably dates after 1915.

It's hard to tell if Repros or not - it's hard to tell sometimes but usually the printing is inferior quality. Otherwise, I would date them 1915-1930. The fact that they are NOS and the backs so generic makes me think repro (are the backs all the same?).

Also, the fonts don't fit the era.

I think they are modern. The old split-back style rarely, if ever, split the entire height of the postcard. Plus the front would have most likely have been full-bleed (no white border box around the image)

There are two diagonal lines on the bottom card (one at lower right corner and the other below the text) - is the card bent or creased there? Otherwise I would guess someone made a copy of an old card with creases and bends and didn't bother to fix the image.

I use repros to write notes now and then to customers (I mark "REPRODUCTION" in ink on the back so no mistake is made in the future.
Here are a couple I have left:

Note the postmark is 1970 so this reproduction thing is not new. You could have new 38 year old stock.
The Stecher back (the one in used in my example) was frequently used in the repros I have seen.
This one is a reproduction of an Ellen Clapsaddle card but printed on a Stecher back (note the crease in the corner on this one too):

Hmmm. The font on "this space for writing messages" looks more modern than they were using back then. I vote on the side of repros.

A few weeks ago, I was at a flea market and looked at a collection of Titanic postcards a friend of my younger sister had. He wanted to know if they were real. I'm pretty good at spotting repros on first sniff - these were perfect- different color aged stock paper, the right weight and feel of old postcards- fonts were right - handwriting on back was of the style of the era. I offered to list them on consignment, which I never do, but these would bring $400+ for each card. My sister had a loupe with her and looked at the backs - the handwriting had tell-tale dots indicating it had been printed. Counterfeits are getting more and more sophisticated.

The copyrights on the old images (circa 1910) have expired so I don't think that the repros are breaking any laws (unless they are represented as vintage). It would be nice if the publishers would indicate that the postcard was created from an antique postcard instead of making us decide when we come upon them.
The fake Titanic postcards are another matter I would think since more than the image is being recreated and the postcard is represented as vintage.
