There's no way I can put that stupid orange plug in this set. The package has never been opened and I intend for it to stay that way. So, it appears I cannot sell this obvious child's toy gun set on eBay. The site I sold the Targeteer on doesn't really have this type of stuff on it. I would assume this set still in it's package would be rather rare or at least difficult to come by. Any suggestions?????????

Could you sell them as they are now, but include 2 orange plugs in the shipment with a note that they are to be inserted into the guns when opened?

I'm afraid to even do that. I already had a violation for that because of another toy gun set I tried to sell. I mean, it's so obvious these are toys and cannot be used for anything else. The "bullets" are plastic for crying out loud and are just for show. I doubt one of those plugs would even fit into one of these.

It's crazy, isn't it? I can just see you trying to hold up a bank with two little toy guns.

I think you are right to be cautious about relisting, especially on the heels of a previous violation. I'm sure people have gone NARU for much less.

I'd sell it to a toy dealer, someone with a B&M. You probably won't get as much for it as you would on eBay but at least you'll get something.

If you do a search for "vintage toy dealer" you should find some names.

You might want to try GunBroker.com under "Everything Else". I checked and there are a couple of similar-type items.

I sold a 60's vintage Mattel Fanner 50 double holster set in it's original box on Gunbroker....did very well, about 500 bucks if I remember.

It does seem crazy zippy I agree but there are some that would try.

My Nieces boyfriend was drinking at his bachelor party and on the way home he was in the back seat of the car fooling with this toy guy that was used at the party.

At the red light a car of guys pulled up along side there car and my nieces boyfriend pointed this toy gun at the guys in the car, the guys in the car had real guns and shot him dead.

I would guess this is a pretty rare set and one sealed in the original package more so.
Kit Carson was real person.
The name which has no relation to the real person was a cowboy character in a few movies of the 1940s as well as a TV show & comic books of the 50's. He was one of the leeser known western tv hero's.
Google the Gene Autry Cowboy Museum or the Antiques Roadshow one of there popular appraisers does toys I don't recall the name.
If it were a Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, or Hopilong Cassidy set its value might go into 4 figures Kit Carson who knows.

Toni, maybe it's because those toys on Ebay are cap guns and Cheryl's guns have bullets?

There are 6 auction and 16 store "double holster set" listings on ebay now (word "gun" not in title)

Helen your right, I didn't realize that.

But what I would do is open the top of the package very carefully and take out the bullets.
The word bullets is not mentioned on the packaging. I'm sure she will still get a decent price for the set of toy guns mint in the package.

Godd idea, toni.

Neglus, I searched those holster sets and nearly all of them are described as cap guns or in one case as "plugged".

Here is an Ebay discussion about the sale of toy guns that's rather interesing. I don't believe that I would take the risk.

TOY GUNS REMOVED BY EBAY AS REAL WEAPONS

FYI
The "bullets" are plastic and could not be fired even if you could put them in the guns, which you cannot do. They are toys and do not have working cylinders or any of the mechanism needed to fire live or fake ammo.

Don't limit yourself to on-line venues. I don't do toys, but I'm sure if you ask on the eBay toy or antique board, someone will send you a lead for a true live vintage collectible toy/Western auctioneer.

Those plugs are the dumbest things I've ever seen ... reminds me of taking a tour through a poultry plant.

Try www.auctionarms.com They've been in business for 10 years and were formed when eBay disallowed weapons, real and some toy. I've done well with vintage BB guns and cap guns in the past. (nothing in the last year) I don't sell regular weapons since I don't hold a FFL. I'd check it out if you decide not to sell on eBay.

I already got slapped (more like hit) for this violation before. It was a Targeteer. Even though there were some on eBay at the time, they got me. I don't want that violation again. It's a biggie!!!

It's so obviously a toy, but eBay doesn't check before they remove. All I need is some vindictive competitor and I'm toast!

I think that's a good decision, Cheryl. Since you only have one and the sale would not represent a substantial amount of money, it's not worth the battle or risk.

Ebay Firearms Weapons and Knives

Permitted
Replicas, paintball guns, "air soft" guns, toy guns, cap guns and "look-alike" firearms under certain circumstances. These items must have clear markings permanently affixed to them (commonly blaze orange markings on the barrel or a blaze orange plug inserted into the barrel)
