Bought this 5.5 inch plate for 50 cents, mainly because I thought it was very old. Is it & does it have any value at all? It's in very nice condition.

Pretty little plate...looks like it might be lustreware but that's just a guess...Good luck and hope it's worth a bunch!

blueyes, It's not going to make me rich, maybe double my money I was curious because it's made in Japan, not China.

It has a Art Deco feel to it. I agree about the luster ware part.

Hi Mcjane. You must be very young. I'm not saying that as a slight..just that we old people know about Japanese imports..mostly from the 50's after the war. Your plate isn't really worth anything now..sorry. Japan items were at their highest level about 10 years ago on Ebay. It's a pretty plate. Who knows..Japan items may make a comeback!

Not true, antique and vintage Japanese items sell very well-woodblock print, netsukes, inroe, ojime ,ivory, bronze ,porcelain (Satsuma,Imari ) vases and figurines but not plain occupied Japan or 1950s dishes.

the plate appears to be Lustreware and hand painted. Starting price not over $9.99 on Ebay. Good Luck!
