Check out post #41 - "... a Stores specific designed item page will be live on the site in the coming months."

"Hi Everyone –

eBay Live in Chicago was a lot of fun – wish you could have all been there. We managed to squeeze is some fun in between meeting many of the greatest sellers on eBay....Stores! The turnout at the Stores booth was very strong and we enjoyed meeting many of you and hearing about your success stories.

We apologize for our delay in responding to your questions regarding the Stores listing frame. We’ll be completely transparent to you regarding the changes as they pertain to the Stores listing frame and the new view item page.

As most of have you have heard, and some have seen, the new view item page is being exposed to a small percentage of traffic on the site. As we increase the percentage of traffic that we’ll be displaying the new view item page, there will be several variations that will be tested over the next few months. Not everyone will see the new item page and neither will all of your buyers; and therefore, your current settings within your listing frame will still be preserved and exposed in most cases when the classic view item page is displayed.

While we know this period of time before all of the site traffic is seeing the new item page will be inconsistent (in terms of what a user will see and the settings you have customized in your listing frame), it will give us the ability to make decisions on the features that drive the most traffic to your Stores and increase buyer conversion.

Now, onto how this affects Store sellers and the Store listing frame. Let us be very clear that a Stores specific designed item page will be live on the site in the coming months. The Stores team worked extremely closely with the view item team in order to develop a page that we believe will deliver the following for our Store sellers:

(1) Drive repeat buying activity
(2) Showcase breadth of inventory
(3) Drive an individual Store seller’s brand
(4) Highlight promotions effectively

The initial version of the Stores item page, or what some users are seeing today is a newly designed Store header that includes the Store logo, Stores red door icon, Store colors, links to Store, and links for buyers to add to favorite sellers and Store newsletter, as well as the Store search box. Other features which will only be available to Store sellers will come in later months as a final design and will include links to Store custom categories, cross merchandising of your own items, and the ability to add marketing messages on your item pages.

The listing frame that we are all familiar will not go away, but will evolve into what the Stores team believes will accomplish the four goals highlighted above. Because this functionality will only be enabled for Stores, we see the newly designed item page as further support and validation of owning a Store on eBay.

How can I give eBay feedback on the new design?
If you see the new page "live," we'd like your feedback! If you land on the redesigned page, you'll see a link at the top — "Send us your comments."

At our next BBL, we will invite a representative from the team leading the new item page design to answer any questions you may have.

Now that we’re back from Chicago, no more excuses, we’ll be making a run through all of your open posts ensuring there isn’t anything we have not responded to.

Thank you for your feedback!

The Stores Team"

Looks as if our stores are all going to look alike.

That's about as clear as mud. Evidently the Pinks have been given a new directive to communicate with sellers (that would be a good thing if you could understand what they are saying). I guess ebay management was shocked at the level of dissent at eBay Live.

I think that if I see or hear the word 'TRANSPARENT' one more time I shall either scream or do some serious damage to something!
It has been a Corporate buzz word for about 18 months now and I am SO tired of it as it is totally meaningless.
