As I mentioned once before, I have Skype. It is through a separate phone with separate line. Skpe is my businesss phone. And, once I turn off my computer, my business phone is disabled.
We all have to remove our email from the item description. Once removed, there is still a way for my customers to reach me. Rather than the two tin cans and string which passes as the ebay message system, I can still be reached by Skype.
The links for messaging by Skype text or Skype phone are still available. Perhaps ebay is steering us toward Skype usage.

I just checked on the new ebay selling page. In the "Meet The Seller" section on the upper right hand side, there is wording "Ask Seller A Question" along with the images that Skype uses for chat and talk on the current ebay page.
