Is it just me, or is the link to the seller dashboard missing from My eBay this morning?

Here's the announcement:
August 09, 2008 | 06:00PM PST/PT

As a result of an issue we experienced during the daily update to the 30-day Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) averages, some sellers are experiencing either an increase or decrease in their DSR scores. In order to recalculate all DSR scores as quickly as possible, we have temporarily disabled the Seller Dashboard. We are also removing the trust factors (DSRs; buyer satisfaction rating; and shipping cost, including free shipping) from the Best Match algorithm so sellers are not promoted or demoted unfairly.

Finally, we will not calculate PowerSeller discounts or Best Match standings until the recalculation is complete and the DSR averages have been verified. We are working these problems around the clock and apologize for any inconvenience or confusion that we may have caused our sellers.

Regards,
eBay

I guess I don't get to keep my 5.10s.

I don't know Queen - I suppose it depends on whether you were advantaged or disadvantaged by Best Match. Sometimes I am just cynical enough to believe that DSRs don't really influence BM at all. I have see results where sellers with stellar DSRs are displayed below sellers with low DSRs. I have read posts on ebay boards stating that member sales were BETTER when search status was lowered. If ebay can't get a simple calculation like DSR right (I think we learned to calculate averages in third grade), how can we have any faith that the hocus pocus formulas behind Best Match have any chance in Hell of delivering a "Best Match" result to buyers?

In other words, the searches are screwed up - if they want us to base every aspect of our business on their crappy little stars, the least they can do is to get them right.

Thankfully I have never been "lowered" in search and am usually "raised" but every once in a while I get dropped down to standard and it's like everything stops. My store sales used to be a big portion of my weekly sales and now they are almost non-existent. I had started putting a stuffer in my packages regarding ebay's new feedback and my stars increased dramatically...and then they disappeared!

I pray for the day they just stop all this madness and treat everyone the same in the search. We all pay the same fees, after all, with the exception of the discounts.
Let the discount be the reward for "Doing business the right way - in ebay's eyes anyway."

It looked like she had that dreaded neurological disorder that lets you browse and bid on eBay all day long but won't let you push the "Pay" button.

I called yesterday because mine was so messed up - I was told they have shut it down temporarily because it was malfunctioning.

Sure enuff later in the evening it was closed.
Now (while it is down) it is a level playing field .
BTW I think everyone that pays to list should have their item given equal exposure.

It is not quite a level playing field, yet. We still can't post negatives or neutrals for deadbeats or problem buyers.

I meant search would be level (for a while).
IT IS NEVER FAIR WHEN YOU CANNOT DEFEND YOURSELF OR YOUR REPUTATION.That is exactly what is has happened since sellers can only leave positives.

I feel the same way, deur1. If only it were level all the way around. Well, I guess that option will just become another part of the good old Ebay days!
