Take a look at this gallery view:

Those gallery pictures really pop. I can see that their technique works well with large blocky items; I can't wait to try it with some chunky pieces of jewelry.

Personally, I don't like that they're at an angle. I've always hated that. Other than that, I agree that they stand out.

I like the angle in the gallery view for these items - they really do stand out - and I'm usually not keen on the angled pics. I'd rather have the normal pics in the auction description area though. Also impressed with the $8 shipping from Malaysia!

I don't really like the angled photo...however I can see how it would make the photo stand out on the new best match playground search that has the options to show just the photos.

I guess it would also depend on what you sell. Almost all my customers right now are men. I'm selling old coins. I have 100's of them to sell. Men just want to see a picture of the coin. They don't want to see fancy backgrounds. I also have a mountain of eBay-ana stuff to sell that really wouldn't do great with this kind of photo. These photos will work better with jewelry like Fluffy sells. I'm out of that for now. I have tons of it here that I need to get rid of, but I'm making enough off of being a TA, I don't have to worry about that right now.

I like them very much. They look very professional and "catalog like". For womens ware, purses ect I think it's a great look.Victorian art glass ... it would not work, but for their productline its good looking.

I love angled photography but not this technique.
The angled photo of a photo appears to be a flat, tired gimmick which only serves to distract and cheapen the product in my opinion. If you like this technique, frame within a frame might be more effective.

How often have you had a lovely item nicely photographed that got few hits and no bids?
In today's eBay, that's so common it's not even worth mentioning.
Take a look at this search. Even if you don't care for angled photos yourself, you can't deny they stand out from the herd:
Pink caftans
Some of the biggest and most profitable sellers on eBay use fugly gallery photos. But they work better than pretty pastel portraits.

WOW! I just saw this. It's an $18 polyester dress but the Photobucket effects make it look like a million bucks:

Anyone using this?

Showing a picture of a picture... I'd tend to think you might lose bidders because buyers will think they aren't bidding on the actual item.

Fluffy - I'm on DSL and it took too long to load for me (7 sec). I want instant pictures. I can only imagine it would take a long time for those on dial up. I know 7 seconds is not a long time, but then you have to wait for it to cycle through all the pictures. I didn't see one whole picture of the outfit. Just pieces parts.

I like the frame and the angle - it really does pop.
There was a mid century modern furniture seller on ebay that used angles and a totally white background. I'm pretty sure they had a professional photographer. They left ebay a few months back and I sure miss seeing their stuff.

I don't like slide shows or photos that move - I never bother to take the time to figure out how to make them stop, they annoy me.
