With the latest Ebay changes, they seem to fall directly in to the category of Socialism, which is defined as "administration of the means of production and distribution of goods" the only portion they are now missing is being state owned.

We live in a free-market Capitalist society - that is what America is based on. With the recent and upcoming changes, Ebay seems to slap down the tried and true Capitalist methods and move towards Socialism.

It has been proven time and time again that Socialism does not work - ask the Russians. Why not let the free market determine shipping costs - if someone is over-charging, people will eventually go to another seller who does not over charge. It's called competition. It is what makes the business and retail world go round and round.

There is a lot of sellers who start the auctions at 0.01 cent or anything lower then 1.00 and show free shipping. When you go to there auction page they state...handling is 23.00 and material is 4.00 and insurance is required 4.00. Why don't ebay do something about these sellers?

They are sellers from China who list on the US site.

Why would I want to pay insurance on a 1cent item? Just another way of them making money but since they have been around for a while I guess ebay doesn't care.

Toni,
like Caroline said, bidders take all charges into consideration, these sellers are not doing any better .

Bidders actually get turned off when they see all these charges.
As for Ebay,it is called fee avoidance, thats why they poke their nose in and start dictating shipping terms.
