Anyone else wondering what the longer 30-day fixed price listing is going to do their actual sales? Sure... you might be able to have longer listings for lower costs... but does it matter if you don't get sales?

I usually find that most of my bidders are buying things in the last day and even the last few hours of my 7-day listings. Does that mean that it will be a real quiet 29 days... and then one so-so last day. Or, do you think that your listings will still get the same amount of sales as you'd get from Four 7-day listings? I know they say they're improving how the search will work... but I've heard that one before!

I'm going to be done with eBay soon... but just curious if anyone had thought about this aspect...

I have been thinking about this alot! Right now I am seeing sales mostly when my listings are approaching the end (selling only fixed price items right now). So, if I continue with 7 day listings, it will cost $1.40 as opposed to the .35 for 30 days, but I might actually get 4 times the exposure? Then again, if length of listing has nothing to do with placement in best match (I thought I read that somewhere, could be wrong) then what would be the best strategy??

I think that since we will be able to list multiple quantity for an item that there will be continual sales of an item during the 30day/GTC period. It would seem to be key to success.

All items that I plan to place as 30day/GTC core will have quantities of 5-10 per item. I'm going to place in two categories with UK exposure.

I plan to continue doing so until 1/16/09, and then evaluate. Of course, any more changes may just change or terminate my plan.

What happens with Search will also be important.

I like the FP with a BIN. I usually run them for two weeks so it is something of a no brainer for me to go ahead and list them for 30 days.

Closing the store on eBay and just using Core for marketing purposes now.
