I suggest reading this thread. The news is not good. You will have ZERO visibility because the new fixed price will not show an end time. You will be permanently and hopelessly stuck at the bottom of the Time Ending Soonest search. What a load of garbage!

A pity! Even in collectibles, some items are rather common and you know at best, they will get a single bid. I like to list them as fixed price in core - some sell, others don't but help drive people to my store. Now eBay has taken this away. With BIN core listings virtually hidden, I see absolutely no value of listing BIN in core, even for 30 day listings.

I know what I listed and I could not find my own items!

Terrible

I moved a few store items to fixed price yesterday and 2 have picked up 3 or 4 watchers already, so they are not totally buried.
I'm only picking out items that are somewhat rare or unique and the rest will stay in my store.
I can see how this new feature won't work for many items.

I posted this down at VD services

Chris posted the link that was posted here

Chris, thanks for posting- all need to read the link.
I thought the new eBay changes and promises might be too good to be true, and sadly I was correct. I very much anticipated Sept 16th,because it sounded like a no brainer--sellers were actually getting a great new deal.
I happened on the information on the boards...list your heart away, they will rarely be seen,no ending time.
Goes to show big promises, expectation and change aren't always as we hope.
IMO this is a disaster.

Hmm, I just did a search on one of my items I placed in Fixed Price after my wonderful conversation with an Ebay representative yesterday. My item came up first even though it was the same price as a similar item and my item has 29 days to run and the other item only 4 days.

These were the only 2 in core. There were 7 in Stores.

So, my visibility on this item is fine.

merrie - Yours came up because there were so few in core. If you are selling an item that appears a lot in core, you're sunk using fixed price. Don't count on visibility being good like that on all your items.

Hi Cheryl, I realize that, I was just surprised that I was above the item that was ending sooner.

Hey a lot of things surprise me on Ebay now, why should this be any different!!

I am only moving big ticket items which will be visible due to few comps.

New hype:

"Starting September 16, you can list in Fixed Price for a full 30 days for just a 35¢ Insertion Fee-regardless of the item price or number of items in your listing.

This is the perfect opportunity to list more inventory in Fixed Price at a low upfront cost. Combine multiple similar items into a single 35¢ listing. Move your best Stores inventory to full exposure on eBay.

Sell more and stay on top--list for 30 days
At the same time we lowered upfront fees, we optimized Best Match to consider a listing's recent sales instead of time left as a key factor in search results. That means the more your multi-quantity Fixed Price listing sells, the better position it can get.

Tips to build your "recent sales" advantage:

List in multi-quantity Fixed Price listings with the new 30--day duration--included in the new
low fee--to build up your recent sales score.

For maximum efficiency, use the new "Good 'Til Cancelled" option, also included in the new
low fee. Your listing will automatically renew for the same low fee every 30 days.
The listing's recent sales will be carried over.

If your listing sells out or expires, don't create a new listing--just add inventory and "relist."
The listing's recent sales will be carried over."
