I sell Worldwide, and have only accepted Paypal from US, UK and Canadian buyers. I know that there are others of you including Tom who have not accepted Paypal from most International countries. What are you going to do when the new Paypal rules come into effect on October 1st? I get lots of checks and money orders from my Canadian buyers because it saves on the exchange rates.

I am doing exactly like ebay wants and only taking paypal. I don't like it but I don't see any other way.
Of course, international sales are now covered under paypal's seller's protection so I guess it no more of a risk than domestic.
Will interesting to see what other plan???

I guess I will do the same thing. I don't sell a whole lot Internationally, but with sales so low, I don't want to miss any.

Another question. I have in my listing descriptions that I take checks and money orders. Is there a way to change that in bulk? Can I just add that I can only take Paypal, and would that be acceptable? I can't face going through over 400 store items again to revise!

Amber - I don't think that will work come January. I tried something like that with "cash" two years ago and eventually got my listings pulled.

I remember when ebay disallowed Western Union Payments, Vendio made a mass edit of our descriptions to take Western Union out...I just posted on the Vendio Services board to see if they could do something like that again to remove everything but PayPal, or at least take out checks and money orders. You might chime in on that post in hopes that Vendio will see the need.

That would take care of editing the description (the hard part) but I think we will still have to edit the eBay part using TL or bulk editor. Perhaps EBay is going to just wipe out the other options.

Thanks neglus: I don't list most of my store items through Vendio. I have changed my shippping promotion box to take out the checks and money order option. I guess if eBay decides to close the auctions, I can just relist them. I missed a few when adding the shipping cost option a few weeks ago, and as each has reached the end of the 30 days, they closed them, and I just relisted them. I wish they would give us all the changes we need to do at once, instead of this "dribs and drabs" way where we have to keep revising auctions. It takes so much time.

Accepting Paypal payments from intl buyers?
I know we will be covered if we ship to the address indicated on Paypal notifcation email,BUT it has to be trackable and it gets expensive??
USPS priority fixed rate box is trackable but not fixed rate envelope, and box is 37 dollars up?
How many of us can justify charging 37 dollars shipping for small item?

I am still going to send winning bidder notices that include the payment options of
CASH, Checks, Money Orders, Certified Checks, and of course, GOOGLE CHECKOUT.

On all of my non-ebay sites, I will not be listing PayPal as a payment option any more. And I am removing it from my listings a little at a time. No sense in giving ebay any extra money that they don't deserve.

Amber Be careful, that is the approach I took and got a three day suspension. 5 infractions in 6 months and your off for 3 days.

Well.... I threw a few auctions on in the past week with just PayPal as the payment option, you know just to test the water.

I have already received an email from the potential buyer asking if I would accept a money order because they don't want to use or don't have PayPal. How many other potential buyers are just passing on my items because I don't have the other payment options available? I wish there was a way to know. At least this buyer emailed but hey who knows he may have lost interest now we'll see.

This whole PayPal only thing is a about eBay/PayPal being greedy. Plain and simple.

But soon all items will offer paypal only and your prospective bidders really have to sign up with Paypal or buy off Ebay.
If you have your own website, you can ask him to buy from your site.

I tried to bulk edit some of my auctions this morning. Half of them said "error, cannot be revised". All I could do was add to the desciption of each item, and change the payment options offered. Do you think that will be enough, or do I have to go through them all and change everything, yet again?

Bulk editor was broken last night. From my experience, adding to the description will not be enough if your description has the words money order or personal checks.

You are right Pixiamom, I called eBay and they said that the words check and money order have to be removed. They told me to download Turbolister, so I am going to try editing through that.
