I noticed an interesting and significant difference in page load times between these sellers listings. Both are using flash but one is using ebay picture host. I wonder if the slow loading time on the one store is because of ebay picture hosting or another app? Both appear to be using either the Premium or Anchor Store option.

compare:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320301829344

The first listing loads about 6 times faster than the second. I compared more listings from these sellers with consistent results. The second loads so slowly that they lost my interest and my business.

I am using a cable modem with Vista.

I wouldn't buy from either one of them. Both took over 4 minutes to load.

Both loaded almost instantly for me with no appreciable difference between the two (using Broadband connection).

I was wondering about the differences because it could affect a seller's sell through. Would not want to use whatever feature is making this seller's listing load so slowly.

Speed on the Ebay site as a whole has been horrible for the last month. Anything that adds to that load time has got be costing us potential sales.

While I do not list as much on eBay as I used to, I want those listings to be successful. I have stopped using scrolling galleries and keep html in my descriptions to a minimum. It seems to be working for me as my sell through is still better than average in my category.

Both loaded quickly I would guess less than 10 seconds. Took longer for the Vendio message page to load.

Both loaded quickly for me, but the first one was skewed to the side and I had to scroll horizontally to view it.
