They left in a split second - folks watching for days blinked and missed it. Oh well - no more show

No kidding. It WAS sweet - I just watched a few minutes but got to see the mother bird feed the babies and was fascinated. We have hummingbirds here but I have never seen young and have no idea where they nest. The next time I checked, the babies were gone. I agree, the live cam of the feeder is BORING
I joked with DH that we should put a web cam to record the swallows who always build nests around our house in the summer but then the whole world could hear our comings and goings - and our heated discussions.

A great horned owl in New Mexico. Eggs were laid mid-feb and should hatch mid-March. Mother will bring large chunks of rabbits to feed. I never have seen an owl up close like that - the mother wakes up every now and then to turn eggs.

In June I have a painter coming to do my house. Myabe I'll put up a web cam and the curious can watch paint dry.
