I just got a new Mac after using PC for many years, and will be taking lessons, but if anyone has any advise I would be very grateful -
When I write up a listing on Vendio as I always have, I get a message that my browser does not support HTML. I have been working around that, but it takes twice as long. I am using Safari and there are times that I am totally lost!

Quick fix:

This is a problem using the Safari web browser. You can use Firefox and you will be able to see everything properly without a problem.

Hello jtomp,

The Safari browser does not properly support the code needed to build the HTML editor unfortunately. Simply download FireFox for the Mac OS which does support the HTML editor.

If you have any other questions related to using Vendio with the Mac OS, please let us know, were happy to help.

shagmidmod thanks for helping, however this is not a place to promote competing services and we appreciate your following the rules in the message forums.

Regards,
Chris

shagmidmod, too bad that you had to remove a portion of your post. When I first read the OP, I just knew what you would suggest, and left the answer to you.

I can't recall this ever happening before. I guess we will soon be required to only discuss eBay problems as they relate to Vendio. Oh me...

I wish Vendio made improvements to their system to make eBay listings worth while... or drop their fees significantly- a low one time fee would be great.

Ebay's improvements are a double edge sword for Vendio. 1) eBay adds a new feature that Vendio offers in their system, which decreases the value of Vendio's system (eBay image hosting, enhanced checkout, marketing to previous buyers, eBay store). 2) eBay bans 3rd party integrations, payment processing, etc.. This makes another part of Vendio disappear.

Top that off with eBay's desire to keep their image while depending on sellers to take the hit when it comes to buyer fraud... sellers have to look at their options.

Sorry for any confusion Bill, but no requests to edit posts was made. It was just a reminder of the long standing rules about promoting competing services in our message boards. We obviously let it slide quite a bit when you consider how often it comes up, but after X number of promotions for a competing service come up it's best to remind users who may have forgotten or hadn't yet had a chance to read the rules.
------------

With the rule changes at eBay about promoting outside services and/or products in third party checkout, the value for any third party checkout was relatively low compared to the value of all the other services offered. We still have much better listing and template tools, not to mention nice uncompressed photo hosting, as well as inventory and customer management.
Ideally by the time eBay does make the switch they will have addressed the only two remaining advantages to using a third party checkout system - alternative shipping and payment options. If they do (and supposedly will, or have already in some ways) address those two bits, buyers and sellers shouldn't notice any changes from how the checkout process works today.

Chris

Completely Mac / Apple family. Just bought a new Mac because my 10 year old G4's monitor gave out. Computer was till going strong (slow, but strong). Mac's are a snap to use. I list strictly through Ebay. No middle men since their fees now take a % of your "profits." Too many fingers in my pocket already.

My view is that Vendio wouldn't have much to worry about competing services if more improvements were made to offset the features that have become practically obsolete.

Vendio should have been ahead of the game long ago by creating an alternative payment service to Paypal, better quality templates, and easy integration from old Vendio stores to new Vendio stores.

Instead, Vendio sold to Ali.
