In the Q&A there is this question:
"My current provider allows me to merchandise inventory in checkout. Will this be available in eBay Checkout?
We expect to offer cross-merchandising in checkout in the future. We will be testing some different solutions this fall. Based on the results of these tests, new features may be added to the eBay Checkout process in 2011."
I read this to be "NO!", there will be no updating of inventory with your existing 3rd party system.
WHAT WILL VENDIO BE DOING IN THIS REGARD TO KEEP INVENTORIES CURRENT?

Hello,

They are not trying to say that bypassing third party checkout means your provider won't be able to update inventory quantities after an item is sold/unsold. They are referring to promoting other items that you currently have up for sale directly IN the checkout flow.

All third party providers that provide inventory management will still be able to track what does and does not sell so they can keep inventory quantities at correct numbers.

Regards,
Chris
