Sorry to gloat, but it is so rare that we have a consistently great buying day, especially in Portland (home of thrift stores and antique dealers). We went out hitting a bunch of thrift stores.

Vintage Desk: $52, will sell easily for $400.
Vintage Stool: $10, will sell for $50.
Vintage Iron Table: $20, will sell for $100
Set of vintage glasses: $10, will sell for $250-350
Vintage Unused Briefcase: Free with coupon, will sell for $50-100
Vintage office organizer: $2, will sell for $30-40.
Vintage Tiki Liquor Decanter: $13, will sell for $40-50
14 Temporama Coffee Cups: $28, will sell for $75
Jack LaLanne Unused Juicer: $40, will sell for $100
Floor Lamp: $7 will sell for $50
Table Lamp: $13 will sell for $75
Vintage Tony Lama Rattlesnake Cowboy Boots: $30 hopefully will sell for $100-200.

There is so much more we bought. It makes up for those days we find nothing. We bought several things at each stop, except for one. That one we only searched for furniture and high tailed it out because the place was a madhouse for their half off sale.

Shag, sounds like a great day. Was that on a Saturday? I find it can be hard to shop thrift stores on Saturday.
I had some luck with garage sales and one thrift.
Got a necklace for $5 which turned out to be a diamond. Not real large but a nice size & color.
Pair of gold earrings for a quarter.
A broken seed pearl necklace for fifty cents - turns out to be either Victorian or Georgian.
A 3 strand just like mine just sold on ebay for $560 and I found one off ebay listed for $1200. Mine is only a 2 strand and the center of the gold clasp was replaced with a brass one - but hopefully all this is repairable.
Kind of makes up for the last 3 weeks of finding nothing.

That was on Monday, which is generally a terrible day to go to a thrift store. Most everything of value gets sold over the weekend, leaving Mondays "slim pickin's" day.

I usually spend my Monday packing, shipping, and balancing our bank account, paying bills, etc.

We also told our landlord that we will not be renewing our storefront lease. I can't tell you how happy I am to be free of managing a store. We're going to work on our website, focus sales online and probably rent a small space at a dealer mall if we continue bothering with furniture.

I am tired of dealing with the retail business side of things. Arguing with our credit card processor, paying utilities, doing payroll, paying payroll taxes, paying Workers Comp, always looking over our shoulders. It is freedom!!! The beauty is that our lease ends in July, but a local bike shop approached us needing a space b/c their lease ends this month. They are in talks with our landlord about possibly moving in as soon as May 1. This will free up my entire summer, and I can finally take a real vacation. lol.
