It has been a few years, like 5 or 6 for me and it has never happened with our vintage items account.

I have a problematic item on eBay. There is nothing wrong with the actual item or the listing... the problem lies with the winning bidders.

I have sold the same thing twice, and both times the winning bidder hasn't paid. Ironically, it isn't as simple as being ignored either.

In both instances, the buyers have contacted me. One giving me delay after delay, until finally eBay closed the case.

The second one emailed me this past week to see if I could sell her each item for $35 each and would pay right away via Paypal. I countered offered and we settled on $50 each or $200 for all 4. I adjusted the listing and sent her a message. She replied back that she would purchase them.

8 hours later and the listing still sat there with my lowered price. I emailed her and explained that someone else could purchase them at any time. An hour or so later she emailed me that she was purchasing them. A few minutes later I saw that they had sold, but to a different ID. In the purchase, she put a message in there asking me a question.

The next morning I get the following message: "Hi there, what is going on? i thought we have an agreement, and u have accepted my offer of $200.00 for all 4 of these, and now i see it has been sold??

Please update me immediately.

i have neglected and passed on other items to buy urs , and i have clearly given u my best offer BASED upon our agreement-please ABIDE by what we have agreed as u have stated in ur email.

please advise,
thanks"

then she follows up with: "Hi, please let me know status on this matter, also i have made ebay aware of this situation and have made a report. I would like to make payment on this item which i have bought.

thanks

-----------

I feel like I am dealing with a bi-polar or dual personality buyer. I emailed her and had to explain to her that she bought it with a different id. She emails me back full of apologies, blah blah blah... and says that she will contact eBay to straighten it out.

I am not sure how she will straighten it out, so I email her and tell her that she can use the invoice from the other account and simply sign into her Paypal account that she wants to use to make payment.

After all of this coaching, she disappeared. 3 days, no emails, no payment, nothing. So much for payment right away.

This isn't something that is normally bought by flaky people, but apparently that is what is going on.

I wonder can you do NPB on both their accounts? guess not! Of course customers like this relieve the boredom of the dull routine of being paid and mailing packages.

What kills me is that in her first email message she said she would pay "immediately via Paypal".

Then, she suggests that she reported me to eBay for selling the item to someone else... because she obviously wants these so bad.

Apparently, not bad enough to make payment. eBay opened an Unpaid Item on this already.

The only thing I can hope for if she doesn't pay is that she gets into a huge argument with her boyfriend over the Unpaid Item strike if she doesn't pay. For some reason, I have a feeling she will email me after the strike is issued on her boyfriends account asking me to remove it since it isn't his fault. She can contact eBay if that happens. I'm sure eBay will find the story interesting.

Why didn't you just require immediate payment?

I think I would block both IDs and move on.
