This morning my comcast broadband service went down.
Since I have signed up with Windstream for their phone and DSL service (49.99 a month plus tax),I signed on to my DSL service and so far so good,I cant tell the difference in service.
Now for those of you who stream movies online,how is DSL compared to Broadband?

There is a big difference, but it depends on how you use it.
Most businesses prefer DSL because upload speeds are faster. If they are running a website or server it is more important to get that information uploaded quicker.
Cable broadband is much faster for download speeds which is much better for streaming and downloading information.
Example: eBay or Netflix may prefer DSL so that they can provide faster page uploads for users. Users would prefer faster download speeds (cable broadband) so that they can stream or access web pages quicker.
Depending on the quality and speed of DSL, you may or may not see much difference. As speeds continue to increase, you'll notice smaller differences between the two.

Thanks,later today I will try to use DSL to stream some movies from Netflix and see how it works.
I recall using phone line connection to view movie on demand from one of the pay channels and it works fine,so I am interested to find out if DSL is just as good when it comes to streaming movies.
You know hurricane season is upon us,landline and gas are the last to be affected,so if ligt is out,cable,satellite are out,we will still be able to cook and surf and watch movies!
