Probably not where you are but we just had a shaky little earth tremor here.
Here by the way is just east of Melbourne, Australia.
For some of you this wouldn't be unusual, but down here this is a rare happening. It was strong enough to wake the kids and get them out of bed!
I'll keep you posted if there is more news.

Reports on the radio are just confirming that the source of the tremor was located in the nearby hills to us, about 10 miles away from us.
There are no reports of damage as yet.
Bob, Downunder but never down.

I suspect the tremor you felt was simply the impact of Australia's cane toad population doubling again.

You could be right. Perhaps they got into the bean fields last night!

I haven't heard anything up here about it yet, but I will watch the midday news.

Do you know if it was actually an earth tremor or is someone blasting ect.??

Thank you Spaz, I was trying to forget about the cane toads. They would have to be the most disgusting creature on earth. I must remember to stock up on bleach and dettol and a water pistol to spray the buggers with. Death to all cane toads.....

Yeah if you are not used to having them it is pretty exciting when one happens that would not be worth talking about in LA.

A few years ago we had a little thump here in Michigan where they rarely happen and a lot of people did not know what it was.

My wife thought someone had bumped a car into the house and went to look out on the driveway.

Mid-day news on T.V. Minor quake, 3.8 Richter Scale, very deep, no damage reported. Epicentre was a bit further away than first reported.

Maybe it was our celebrity status elswhere that caused the tremor? Seems the posters of AW are famous (or not famous..depending on who is doing the lists, lol).
