Well, we don't have a reason to automatically boot them out at 18. My oldest is almost 22, works full time, helps out at home by playing taxi for the younger kids and he gives us money each month. The 19 year old isn't totally out of control, we just had a bad afternoon.

He is planning on college next fall, this year has been tough with temp jobs, hernia surgery etc. But, it is time to grow up, a fact he seems to be straining against.

edited for spelling

Meya, whatever music he hates, play that continuously when he's home (loud too, how they like it!). That's the total worst punishment for a teenager.

I'll have to get my Toto and Abba cd's out of the car. If they don't work, Jackson Browne should.

Oh dear me Meya....it's worse than I thought. You mean there are people out there who don't like Toto or Jackson Browne??

A conversation this weekend with my 10-year-old daughter:

"This year boys are really not good at all. They keep looking at the girls funny and talking to them."

My reply:

"So, which boys are talking to you?"

Her answer:

"None, I told them if any of them looked at me like that I would punch them."

YOU GO, GIRL!

Wait a couple of years. My best friend's daughter had the same attitude when she was ten. And when she was eleven. And twelve. And thirteen. Now at fourteen she is boy crazy.

Not severe enough. Opera should do the trick.

Ok, I've got it! We have the sound tracks for Les Mis, Phantom of the Opera, and Cats. 8 straight hours of listening to those. Then I'll make him watch "The King and I" with Yul Bryner, "White Christmas" with Bing, and just when he thinks he out of the woods, "Sense and Sensibility" followed by "Emma" and "Remains of the Day".

Son is much better today LOL

How's it going for your son today Meya??

Remember when you where his age?

My son's problem isn't not wanting to grow up. It is wanting to be his own BOSS. I see nothing wrong with that. But when he tries to BOSS his father and I than it is a problem. LOL

I told my son another tantrum like the other night I was going to play some old old music and make him listen to them.

guess what he said...

Quote: [go ahead I like all music]

Microbes..... Whats cruel and unusual punishment is making them watch " It's A Wonderful Life"
