I just received this email from a friend and wanted to share it with all of you:

"This has been circulating...wouldn't it be an incredible sight and statement?

Friday night at 7:00 p.m. step out your door, stop your car, or step out of your establishment and light a candle. We will show the world that Americans are strong and united together against terrorism. Please pass this to everyone on your e-mail list. We need to reach everyone across the United States quickly.

The message: WE STAND UNITED - WE WILL NOT TOLERATE TERRORISM. We need press to cover this-- we need the world to see."

I received this as well. I plan to sit on my front step and reflect and pray. I hope to see my neighbors out there, too.

I just received this email from someone (someone I don't know):

To my friends:

To show those terrorists that we Americans stick together, FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 14 is "Flags Across America." All Americans are asked to display the American flag either in their homes or cars.

Let's keep the meaning of UNITED in "United States". Pass this onto as many people as you know. THANK YOU.

Our flag is already out in front of our house. I'm seeing them everywhere I go. In medians on the highway, in front of homes and I've even seen one on a car antenna.

I'm not seeing as many as I hoped I would see. Our immediate neighborhood has many flags flying but as I headed onto the highway I was kind of distressed not to see but two or three and there are many houses.

I hope folks aren't just too busy to bother.
I'd like to see red, white and blue in my sleep!

Where I live I've seen many, many flags as well as yellow ribbons.

I also heard locally today that everyone should go out tonight at 10:30 pm and light a candle or a lantern.

I too was a bit disappointed in the lack of flags around my town, BUT, local radio stations are reporting that folks can't find any to buy. I remember during the gulf war, I had to pay some guy at a gas station to sell my one of the ones that had at the curb (they had about 10) just so I could fly it proudly...

Thanks for sharing these. Are the times Eastern?? Does anyone know?

My flag will be out tomorrow, it says God Bless America on it.

I don't know if it's Eastern time or not. I wondered that myself. I'm not sure it really matters. I keep wishing there was something I could do. I just feel so helpless. Maybe just flying our flags, lighting a candle and saying a prayer will make us all feel like we're doing something positive and in unity.

God Bless America and those who have lost loved ones.

Actually, it might be wonderful if everyone did it at 7pm in their own time zone. Then it would be like the candles were travelling from East to West.
