If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

We also need to back our leaders and pray they would have wisdom in making the best decisions, discernment to act at the proper time. A very unpopular thought in our time, but nonetheless, God has provided us our leaders for our good and protection.

"For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil...For he is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil."

Romans 13:3, 4.

3. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

hepburn,

This may help:

"God is our refuge and strength. A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear. Even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling.

"There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God. The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn. The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.

"The Lord of hosts is with us' The God of Jacob is our refuge.

"Come, behold the works of the Lord, who has made desolations in the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire.

"Be still, and Know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

"The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge.

Hepburn,

It is how I feel too.

Sorry that I can't quote you Bible verses to help you. I was simply seeking my own comfort and those words were what I found. Sometimes we have to look for our own answers instead of having them told to us.

I do know that God had nothing to do with what happened Tuesay but he has had a lot to do with what has happened since. He was not the airplane that hit us, he is people coming together to help one another. He is in the prayers and tears of millions. He is my rock and my faith for the future.

I hope you find your rock.

I just found my rock...right here. Im not a church goer. I do not read the Bible on a dailey basis and in fact, the last time I opened one was when I was a teenager I think. Been to long to remember. But, I still have it. I am not any particular denomination. I just believe God is God, no matter if you call him Yahweh(?), Allah, Jehovah. I believe in a higher power, and that higher power is God. I believe in Jesus too, but I cant quote Him. I know some, but not all. And I know that I fear this is the end, or will soon be the end. ALl that I knew will be gone. All that will be, will be no more. The sky was blue today, and the windchimes tinkled and the birds sung uncaring in the trees. Butterflies are all over my garden and it was beautiful. And here I sit, in the dark, scared and sad and bummed, and definetly alone. And tired of the fear and sick to my stomach feeling and the "chin up" attitude and the "Im not scared" when its a lie and I am. So what I needed, I got right here, from people I have seen from time to time in RT, at AW, in cyber space. For that, I thank you sincerely. Because I needed it, and I got it,and now, I have to continue it because it is my salvation in my heart, head, soul. Not christian, not jewish, not islamic, not hindu. Just me, and God.

Here is a few more before I go to bed:

Revelation 17:14
These will war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings. They also will overcome who are with him, called and chosen and faithful."

Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

1 Chronicles 7:22
Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brothers came to comfort him.

Jeremiah 31:13
Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old together; for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

Matthew 5:4
Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.

These are all so helpful...thanks. This is the message we received in church this morning - it was very helpful:

Matthew 24: 1 - 14

1 Jesus came out from the temple and was going away when His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him. 2 And He said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down." 3 As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what {will be} the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"

4 And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you. 5 "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many. 6 "You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for {those things} must take place, but {that} is not yet the end. 7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. 8 "But all these things are {merely} the beginning of birth pangs. 9 "Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 "At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. 11 "Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. 12 "Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. 13 "But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. 14 "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Hepburn,

No one who has God in their heart is ever alone, though sometimes it is very hard to remember that.

I don't know what you seek. I do know that if you spend your time fighting against what you don't seek, you will never have time to find that which you do.

If some people's beliefs do no sit well with you, go sit by someone else. Do not let those who make you uncomfortable make you walk away entirely. They are not the losers if you do, you are.

I have wanted to share this verse with someone ever since I found it last Friday so I will do it here. It fits my feelings perfectly and I hope it will help someone else. It just helps me to type it out.
Psalm 57:1
Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge,
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.

PSALM 23
This an eye opener; probably we never thought nor looked at
this Psalm in this way, even though we say it over and over again.

The Lord is my Shepherd
That's Relationship!

I shall not want
That's Supply!

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures
That's Rest!

He leadeth me beside the still waters
That's Refreshment!

He restoreth my soul
That's Healing!

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
That's Guidance!

For His name's sake
That's Purpose!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
That's Testing!

I will fear no evil
That's Protection!

For Thou art with me
That's Faithfulness!

Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me
That's Discipline!

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies
That's Hope!

Thou annointest my head with oil
That's Consecration!

My cup runneth over
That's Abundance!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
That's Blessing!

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
That's Security!
Forever
That's Eternity!
Face it, the Lord is crazy about you.
What is most valuable is not what we have in our lives,
but WHO we have in our lives!

Not sure if this is in the Bible or not, but it is a saying that I have always held very close to me:

When a door is slammed in your face, God ALWAYS leaves a window open. It is our job to look for that open window.
