I saw tonight that bin Laden has at least one child, a son that married one of his associate's daughters last January. bin Laden released their wedding video last January.

Don't tell me we can't get to this guy. We just need to operate differently.

I remember when the USSR had some of their people held as hostages by a faction in I believe Lebanon. They were let go immediately. The USSR sent the hostage takers an ear of one the the faction's family members and told them the USSR knows the whereabouts of all their family members. No USSR citizens were ever taken hostage again, by anyone.

It is now reported that the FBI has gained information that another plot laid by the terrorists is to steal or otherwise obtain fire engines and/or ambulances, pack them with explosives and drive them into a large crowd. These emergency vehicles can move into any area without question in nearly any circumstance. Supposedly all fire and ambulance services are on alert to report any missing vehicles to the FBI immediately.

The fire engine/safety vehicle plot was reported in my local paper, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, this morning. It was the top story on the front page.

Supposedly, there was to be a second wave of attacks and the most likely date for these to be undertaken was September 22. The full extent of the plot may not be known.

I am surprised this is being reported and wonder what they actually know. I guess I'll play it safe and stay home Saturday.

According to one report, bin laden has 4 wives and 10 children so far. His father had 8 or 9 wives and 52 children. Lots of family there!

I also read, just this morning that the Philippines and Malaysia are having problems with these trained terrorists too. Looks like we're in for the long haul. Searching out terrorist cells is not near as easy as just going in and bombing some country!

reamond - I want to take this chance to say I have enjoyed your posts, thoughts and opinions. And I have agreed with much (almost all) of what you've shared. FWIW. ha

As far as this thread goes -

We need to operate differently I agree. We seemed to have so many 'rules/laws' that tie our country's hand at what we can do. Most civilians don't understand that war is war....not let them bomb the heck out of us, make us live in fear of when the next attack might happen. We need to allow our military leaders to go in and fight back, on a level footing.
