Five more employees of the American Media company in Boca Raton have tested positive for exposure to anthrax. I don't have a link. It was just "Breaking News" on CNN.

Maybe the one planting the spores will be humbled and see the error of his ways if someone speaks to him about it. You know, "shame on you" sorta thing, and "please stop" and he will listen. Better yet, send the one's who think we are oh-so-evil for bombing afghanistan to the guy for the speechifying.

The fact that the same antibiotic they gave me for my ear infection will treat Anthrax makes me feel this does more by unreasonable panic than actual results.

I hope the US can get results against these terrorists without escalating but if an escalation is needed so be it. Backing down isn't an option in my mind.

Sept 11th was just the tip of the iceberg. This has all been carefully planned, for a long time. WTC and the pentagon was just the catalyst of what will follow. Whether we retaliated or not, the plan has been set in motion and we haven't seen nuttin' yet, methinks.

I think you're right, Hep - without question. As people adapt to some of the new realities, I think they'll find their courage. I mean, they have to...as you say, this ain't nothin'. Maybe everyone's getting all the panic out of their system now, so they can cope later, when needed...

Not to derail, but I saw on CNN the banner scrolling down at the bottom of the screen and it said some bombs missed a target and landed on a village. Sorry, but at the moment, Im not feeling very generous to them over there so, shucks and darn. Oopsy. Kinda like their stolen plane missing the capitol and slamming into a field, eh?

dman I am starting to think that it IS indeed, terrorist-related, since the one sent to Nevada's Microsoft Office came from MALAYSIA, a predominently MUSLIM culture; surely, some of these people ARE tied to Bin Laden. I still say that MUSLIM is NOT synonymous with TERRORIST, but unfortunately, many fondamentalists get their wired crossed...just as with Jewish Fondamentalist and Christians Fondamentalists...

G-d! I just peeked at the news again: the poor people are still on-board. It is HOT in North Cal right now: Indian Summer in full force. Air-conditionning has been turned OFF, since the man spread the powder through the Air Vents! And now, they just announced that the incident took place 10 minutes after leaving Chicago....Why in the H did the plane not turn back immediately?

I am no longer correcting spelling, sorry...I am just too upset...

Sounds like it's something in progress, but I find no news that resembles the circumstances in Shosh's post.

Shosh, please keep us up to date. I have not seen anything on the local news yet concerning the plane in San Jose. It isnt on CNN either. And YOU try to calm down, ok? I know you are worried, but you shouldnt stress so much, it will make you more ill.

I feel bad for those people in the plane. Not only are they stuck in there (and yes, it is HOT today), they also have to worry about what that white substance is. If it is anthrax or terrorist related, looks like California is now added to the other states in warfare.

I have to say that at this point anything that happens is one of two
things..plans that were in place from the start or an opportunist nut
cashing in on a bad situation.
retaliation is not an option for the enemy. the person who starts a war is
not in a retaliation position ,we are.
if the anthrax cases ARE related to the war we are in, it would have
happened no matter what move we make.
but I am curious why this is happening to news people. it cant be for
coverage? it would get the same or more coverage no matter where it
happened. why the press?
keep Oklahoma in mind, there are plenty of insane radicals here. I would
rather it be our enemy in the middle east doing this...at least we have a
target.

This wasn't easy to find. Not on any of my usual news sources.

United flight grounded in anthrax scare (UAL) By David Callaway
A United Airlines flight from Chicago to San Jose landed and was surrounded by police Saturday afternoon after flight attendants reported that a man who appeared to be of Middle Eastern origin tried to put an envelope full of white powder into the air duct system at the rear of the plane while it was in flight, local television station KNTV reported. Eighty people on Flight 1669 were held on the plane as the police tested the powder and the man was being held, the station reported.

Sorry! Yes, I was talking about the plane which left Chicago, and 10 minutes into it's flight, a middleastern-looking man spread a powder through the ventilation ducts of the airplane, dispersing all the powder throughout the plane. Instead of turning back, the plane continued on, only to finally land In San Jose, North Cal. The FBI is on the case, the San Jose Police is talking to News people at the San Jose Airport; the Police is trying to find out why the plane did not turn back.
As of just a while ago, the people were still in the plane, with no air-conditioning, since there must still be some of the suspicious powder inside the air vents. Several shuttles are on stand-by to take the people to where-ever, then to be interrogated by the FBI.

brienhold, why NOT the news? That is how americans gather their information. Why microsoft? That is how we correspond mostly. Why WTC and pentagon? Because they stood for something. What is next? In order to counter terrorists, we have to think like them. They want to make a statement, and hit what is close to home. Terrorists hate our luxuries too. Im really fearful of them aiming another wave at amusement parks. Big group of people. Water supplies, too, would get the desired effect as does our mail system if planning right. I also have to agree with you that no matter what we would have done, this series of events would have continued on by the terrorits because it has been methodically planned, obviously. They have lived here with us, went to schools, had jobs, used the markets, etc. for years, and sept 11 was the day it all was to start, to be carried out on other dates, with this terrorist doing this, that one doing that. It has only just begun.

Actually, there is a United flight from London sitting on the tarmac at Dulles, too.

An attendant found a powdery substance in the bathroom.

And, it goes on and on.
