The Marine base is about 15 miles away and I seldom go in that direction. Our house hasn't shaken lately so I don't think they're wasting time practice-firing mortars or whatever they fire. On the other hand there haven't been too many private planes taking off from the little airport about 10 miles away. If they are flying, their flight paths have changed because I'm not seeing or hearing them.

They have helicopters flying around 24/7 guarding the place. If it were to blow, it would wipe out ky, part of ohio, part of tn, part of wv, and the chemicals would be released into the atmosphere and ride the air currents, according to the army people. I live close enough to where if it were to go, I wouldn't even know about it because it would be all over.
It makes me nervous, yes, but at least the death wouldn't be painful for me.
There were some middle east people casing the place around the time of the attacks on 9/11. Instead of arresting them, however, they just made them leave the property. I mean very intelligent people here. From what I understand, the FBI is looking for them now.
They had lived in an apartment upstairs from me. It's still empty. Gives me the creeps when I look at it. They had an American flag outside of their apartment for weeks (maybe months, don't know because I had just moved in the end of august) and the day of 9/11 they tore it down and celebrated. Made my stomach churn. The government had people there questioning the neighbors about them but no one really knew anything about them because they pretty much kept to themselves. 9/11 is the only time anyone knew they had become rowdy.
That's the last prognosis I've heard of that situation. As far as I know of, no one has been questioning the neighbors again and the landlord is looking for another tenant.

I forgot to mention the constant gunfire. When I'm at school, you can here the military shooting in the background at targets.
