He did....almost. It's infectious. Ari blurted one--"tolerism" for 'tolerance' the other day and the press couldn't suppress their laughter. They thought it was a bushism transmitted but Ari assured them that it was his own bushism.

Okay, one last -- this from Pappy:

"If you're worried about caribou, take a look at the arguments that were used
about the pipeline. They'd say the caribou would be extinct. You've got to shake
them away with a stick. They're all making love lying up against the pipeline
and you got thousands of caribou up there."

--at a Bush/Quayle '92 fundraiser in Houston, Texas, defending his plan to offer oil companies 'environmentally responsive access' to the Alaskan National Wildlife Reserve. 10/31/91

You may not believe it, but that's true. I worked in the Alaskan oilfields for 13 years and it was a problem. You could look from the road on either side to the horizon (much like being out at sea) there was nothing, and the caribou would insist on staying either under the pipeline for the only shade there was or they'd stay on the road to avoid the mosquitos.

You couldn't blow your horn to get them out of the way either, you were supposed to wait till they walked off the road. The dumb animals would end up walking down the road instead, so you looked around with the binoculars and if you didn't see anyone in view you started blowing your horn to get them off the damn road.

Spoken with perfect timing, inflection, body language and convincing tone (gee, liked it was studiously rehearsed)...

"I did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky"

And completely false...

Style over substance is so 90s...

This Just In: A gaggle of environmental protesters have just returned from a vigil at ANWR. A few days of standing ankle deep in a frigid slushy bog shod only in Birkensocks and batting furiously at hordes of mosquitos the size of sparrow hawks seems to have dimmed their ardor. A spokesperson stated, "We thought we could maintain our spirit by gazing upon the majestic nearby mountains but features were difficult to discern at that distance. The howling blizzard and the incessant noise from a massive herd of rutting caribou nearby didn't help much either..."

and this from the same press conference:

"Let me conclude by one final statement. Thank you all for coming."

My kids loved this comment...the word "swell" has been in constant use around here this week.

I've taken a page from the "Family Values" party on the environment. I don't have any kids. The planet is just fine. I'm only going to live another 25-30 probably, so who cares. Global warming is a myth. The ozone layer is just fine.

Basically, I'm tired of worrying about the future of a bunch of right winged breeders who don't worry about their own. Trash the planet, deplete the fossil fuels, clear cut, and turn protected lands into Disney Parks for all I give a rats patootey. I won't be around to see the end results, so I don't care.

Since I have been under fire for making observations here about Bush, I am
making an effort, like Bush... to polish my image. So, I have only one quote which reveals that our president is a prophet!!!

"My administration has been calling upon all the leaders in the--in the Middle East to do everything they can to stop the violence, to tell the different parties involved that
peace will never happen."--Crawford, Texas, Aug. 13, 2001."
