In case someone is not watching tv at this moment, a plane just went down at JFK...Queens, NY they are saying.

They said the reason for the crash is not yet known, but weather is not a factor. I hope this is not connected to Veteran's Day.

I think they may have closed all NY area airports as a precautionary measure but I'm not sure about that.

Yes, they closed them all. flight 587 airbus.

American Airlines flight #587 bound for the Dominican Republic from JFK.

Went down in the Rockaways at 122nd St. 247 passengers + 9 crew members with a full tank of fuel.

At least 4 homes on fire.

All available emergency services personnel ordered to the scene.

As of right now, no indication of a hijacking.

Thank you, toollady...now they are saying 260 people on that plane. Looks like an engine fell off...whatever happened, it is just awful.

Something really creepy = Yesterday in NJ, both of our drawings for the Pick 3 lotto were the #'s 5, 8 and 7, though I'm not sure what order they were in.
