A new color-coded National Security warning chart has just been released. It is intended to make us more secure as to pending terrorist attacks. Terrorists will love the posting of low-alert greens and blues. Color-blind people will have a problem with it. Where do these get posted? Is there a section of the TV screen or computer monitor that will now be dedicated to the chart? Will it be regional? This just seems so simplistic and juvenile.

Stusi, I have the link in the thread called "Huddle around the campfire, boys". It gives more detail of what the colors mean. And I, too, wonder where these "colors" will be shown? And to whom?

It was announced today that it was decided that we are on a "yellow" alert status. I guess that this means that we will all have to remain in the Duck 'n' Cover position for some time longer.

Won't mean much because nobody will ever admit that we are in a green safe condition.
If something happened unexpectedly somebodys butt would be in the ringer.
The only way the red will ever be used is if there has already been an atomic explosion or they can see the warheads inbound on radar.

They might have to ratchet the color up a step if the president's ratings get too low.

I was thinking the same thing all of you were, until I thought about TV shows that use those alert colors, so I was wondering:

In the near future, do you suppose an action will be added to the color code...actions we civilians have to take when we are in each?

If the code is high enough (those hot colors), we would have to respect a curfew, stay at home except for work and commissary. [ that sort of thing ]

It might be that down the line, we are required to make ourselves aware of the code-for-the-day, and conduct our lives respectfully.

Each state may be under a different color at any time, and we'll be made to respond without knowledge of why.

We could start seeing the color code show up anywhere and everywhere...stores, interstates, websites, workplace, driver's license, health charts...okay that's a bit much.

or, maybe it's just a fad. I think I'll change my color codes in the office at work to reflect the nation's color code.

I wonder if sounds will accompany the color codes? Maybe we should start to worry if the government starts making Morlock Holes.
