Jack you'll appreciate this. After spending half a day and not getting anything at storage auctions we came home and started to load stuff for the flea market this weekend.
We get a call from the manager where we rent our unit. He tells us some guy wants to sell some funiture out of his unit. We get over there and the guy opens the door to his 10 x 20 unit. He says no he wants to sell the whole thing. You should see this thing, full of expensive furniture, antiques, garden statuary and I don't know what else because we can't even see to the back. He takes the $2000 we offer.
Now here's the strange part. They just moved into it the day before. The manager said professional movers brought four truck loads. We don't even have to clean it out fast because they had to pay for the month. I'm going to try and get some info from the manager about what happened. So, I'm out the door in a while, and doing a happy dance, to go play in our locker!

Sure, it's all stolen goods and they've devised a pretty clever way to fence it.

Well, I just got back, and all I can say is wow!
I talked to the manager just to make sure everything was legit, and to get the scoop. The lady is the sister of the CEO (or what ever they call the top guy there) of Oracle. He payed for her move from where ever, and for the storage unit. Manager doesn't know what happened in one day for her to take just $2000. We got though half of it. I have lots of boxes in my van that I'll play with tonight.

Still sounds weird. Former mistress perhaps? So what is in there? Don't tell me. Tell me.

No, she really is his sister. Another interesting thing is she's a Wiccan. I found little bags with hair, rocks, sand, and herbs. Each bag has different hair, and ingredients.
There are many books on Wiccan, which I really want to look at. It seems I have alot in common with the beliefs and nature. I collect rocks and stones, and will probably keep these.
I don't wear jewelry, but if I did this is the kind I'd wear. All silver with natural stones entwined with animals and goddesses. I have them all hanging around my work area. I love to look at them.
The furniture is mostly Indonesian teak and birch. Several patio sets in heavy iron and glass. Three piece white leather living room set. That's all I know right now. We'll be starting on the other half of the unit tomorrow.

Congratulations!

I read on one of the boards somewhere that Wiccan items bring good bids ... and bidders without problems.

Looks like Santa came early this year!

Good for you. You are finding out it is like reading a book about a family's life to go through all their stuff in a locker.

"I found little bags with hair, rocks, sand, and herbs."

Promise you won't start right in making hexable replicas of us all

Seriously, this sounds like a great deal and a wonderful opportunity to bolster your finances. Maybe you'll even find a computer monitor in the pile

Have fun!

Thanks guys, I'm having a ball. One thing I forgot to mention which is also a little strange. There were four pastry boxes of the most delicious pastries you can imagine. I'm eating this peanut butter cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate and peanut butter chips on top, right now. It's from a bakery in San Francisco that supplies restaurants. These are samples of each kind of cake cut into squares, and labeled with the name of the cake.

They had just picked them up so they were fresh, the smell alone was to die for. They didn't even want them and said we could have all of them. I haven't tasted a bad one yet. We ate a whole bunch when we got home and I froze a lot of them.

Oh and I made a mistake on the size of the unit. I said it was a 10x20 but it's a 10x40. Huge!

Aww. That's a darn shame.

All that and cake too.

I really can't complain and get too envious, I've had my big ones.

LOL I didn't think of it that way, having my cake and eating it too! This morning I had a scrumptious blue berry thing.

I would ask why they were going to leave pastry in a storage room - but I bid on a room that had a bag of broccoli when I got to digging.

It mummified.

Mildreds, I'm exhausted, and overwhelmed by the amount that is here. The boxes I'm unpacking now (each two feet tall) have African wood carvings, stone and wood wild animals, and decorative african plates and bowls.
There are around 35 beautifully framed pictures, from small to very large. Most are Goddesses and Wiccan type art. Others are Egyptian figures on cloth.
Also, found the better jewelry. Gold and silver. She also made beaded jewlery, lots of it. She wants her jewelry tools back. She also made candles, and there are two boxes of different molds.
I have so much more to go, and I'm really tired.
