I heard what I think was the following: that the Republican National Committee has sued President Bush regarding campaign finance reform. As the President is the true head of his party's national committee, he appears to have sued himself. Can anyone shed more light on this?

No. But I can only imagine that if he did that, there must be money in doing it. If you get sued and have to pay compensation, isn't that a tax write-off? And if you sue someone for compensation, isn't that income tax-free?

Sounds like a neat way around any restrictions on payments - Hey - I can't give you the money but sue me and the court will make me give it to you!

It turns out that the RNC challenged the ban on unlimited "soft money" contributions from businesses and unions etc. They are claiming some contrived free speech violation.
