New cars. Especially shift transmission. WHY do the makers think we need REMINDING to shift the damn things???? Beep beep beep...or ding ding ding....everytime its ready to shift. Like, DUH. I know when to shift. Heck, if someone needs reminding to shift from 1st to 2nd, to 3rd and 4th, then they shouldnt be driving the $#@% thing!!!

Bejezus what next?

Me? I actually answered the phone today around 3 pm. It was.......AT&T: "You've been selected for a free cell phone--whaddya think about that?" I hung up, cursing myself for even answering. I feel like a hostage in my own apartment.

Energy Saving Light bulbs. We have now replaced every real light bulb in the house and now, I occasionally need a flashlight to dial the telephone....IF I can find the telephone. hahaha!

Going to the grovery store and not knowing what to get. Nothing sounds good. Nothing LOOKS good, but you know you gotta fix something for dinner and dont know WHAT. Which is, in my case, the situation I am facing right at this moment. I gotta get to the store...like, within the next 20 minutes. But I dont know what to get. Decisions decisions.

Hmmm. Tacos? Burritos? Hamburger with fries, homemade of course. Fried fish? Nah. S'ghetti? Nope. Steak? Nope. CRAB!!! Dipped in butter!!! Garlic bread! Light salad!

Never mind. I know what I want. TTYL

You must have them too since you know about finding the flashlight first. HaHaHa

I don't like anything named energy saving.
Sometimes I suspect the dam flashlight is energy saving.

I think that I will burn up the dinner tonight because I can't see the numbers on the oven knobs. A twenty five dollar roast, pulverized

That should do the trick!

Not having a grocery store in town.

Having to call the doctor to get my cholesterol results and getting a mean nurse who tells me to do what I'm already doing. Humph!

Hate the energy saving light bulbs, too.

Pet Peeves:

Going to the grocery store to get what your mind and mouth are all ready for by thinking about how GOOD its gonna taste, then finding out once there that there was a run on crab, so sorry, how about a nice fish fillet? and winding up with babyback ribs (which are great, but my taste buds were salivating for CRAB DIPPED IN HOT BUTTER).

Hepburn

Don't you know that you have to go to at least three stores to get every item that you need?

In my neighborhood, there is a Giant on one side of the street and a Super Fresh on the other side. If I'm lucky, I don't have to go to the Safeway around the corner.

Avoiding an accident is part of the problem since everybody else is doing the same thing.

Yeah! Thats a pet peeve in itself, isnt it? Having to go to numerous stores to get all that you need. I gotta go to Vons to get the cat food, since he wont eat the brands that Ralphs carries...and I got to ralphs to get the meat since I dont like Vons meat department. And I have to go to Albertsons to get the bulk stuff and canned stuff because its cheaper than Vons and Ralphs. Oh, and I have to go to the vets to get the dog food because they are the only ones that carry it (low fat and EXPENSIVE). On top of that, I gotta go to the specialty salon supply place because I dont like the shampoos and conditioners at the market. Sheesh.

I was looking for the old "pet peeve" thread from last year, and stumbled upon this one. Ignore the bad memories of times gone by of bickering and fighting. Just read the fun ones.

it would help if I added the link, eh? Edited to do so:

LOL helen. I can see that didnt last long at all. I said "IGNORE THE BAD PARTS and LOOK AT THE FUN MEMORIES". I see you chose to ignore what I said (as usual). I have no intention of fighting with you, Helen. If you choose to see the glass half empty instead of half full, thats your problem, not mine. THat thread I posted had many interesting things in it from posters no longer here, and 95% of it had things laughable and fun and lighthearted. YOu chose to see the bad things, and start up again what should not be. Like I said...its your choice. You see what you want to see. My intentions were not what you claim, but I know from past experience that you will choose to think otherwise. I didnt come here to fight with you, or bicker with you.
Tell you what...you leave me be and I will do likewise. I wont make subtle hints about you as you have done about me recently in other threads that I have chosen to ignore, nor will I address you again. Your habit of extending olive branches then yanking them back is commonplace and I am leary of any overtures of friendliness from you since I have experienced it firsthand in the past. Unfortunately, I tend to think "maybe this time", but I see I was wrong yet again...it took less than 24 hours for you to insist you know my motives.
Also, you have a tendency to bring Zilvy into the discussion whenever you can. Zilvy is not here. She doesnt intend to be. Leave her be.

I find your using my link as an attack in poor taste. If anything, that thread made ME look bad. I posted it anyway, because of the funny things in it. I see the glass half full.

Hepburn....you have me laughing at the truck beeping problem. Can't that function be disconnected?

My pet peeve is automated answering machines. When you dial a company you have to go through 8-10 "press 1 if [this], press 2 if [that] and upon doing so...you find you're given a new menu with it's own set of options. Then when you finally reach the department/person you were wanting...you get disconnected and have to start all over again.

Hi lindak!!! Yes, I hate those automated systems too. What a pain in the arse, eh?

Or how about those automated robot voices that say "Please hold for an important announcement" after you pick up the ringing phone and say "Hello?". (Why do people say HELLO anyway? Why not just say "WHAT???" )

Told hubby to take the truck back to the place we bought it from and have them take out the DING DING DING BEEP BEEP BEEP. He said he will tomorrow night when he gets off work
